ABSTRACT This short writing provides an overview of a publication by Sali A. Tagliamonte.

I. Article
This article [1] presents the findings of a study of the
language of North American young people. The author
collected a database of internet language from the same
college students across three different types of internet
language covering emails, instant messages, and cell phone
texts. The results show that internet language does not have a
negative impact on their command of language. The
participants seem to master all types of internet language.

II. The author
This article was written by Sali A. Tagliamonte. She has
more than eleven thousand citations. Her Google Scholar
profile shows that she has an h-index of 47 and an i10-index
of 92. Her most cited publication is a book titled, “Analysing
sociolinguistic variation”. Figure 1 shows her google scholar
