A Missed Step Before Creating SDH VC4

Hello,

Today I want to share a case with you, when customer failed to create SDH
VC4 Server Trail after complete creating NE and Fibers correctly.

Also how to create SDH NP_Chain protection.

Introduction
A customer has a SDH chain network based on Huawei Optix 2500+
complained that he can’t create any service or even VC4 Server Trail, though
he already created NEs and fiber correctly, the board used was S16 in both
NEs.

The message returned from the NCE after trying to create service using Trail
was (Computing route failed, Route can’t be found)

Procedures of the check

-These NEs are old and need to create logical system for each optical port
manually, so I started with checking the configuration of the logical system,
but they were correctly created by customer.

- 2nd I checked the protection, as it is a mandatory step before creating VC4

Server trail, and even if there is no protection in the network, there must be a
no protection chain created between NEs.

-you can find whether the protection created or not in several ways, like
checking in the NE explorer > configuration > linear MS or right click the NE
and choose from the “operation list “ in the right side of the screen “SDH
protection subnet management”, but the easiest way is just showing the
protection type in the topology, from “legend & filter” then you can see the
protection as a blue line beside the fiber and no-protection as a black line.

Solution
-   the no-protection chain wasn’t created, to create it just right click on the
background then choose “SDH Subnet Protection Creation” choose NP
Chain, then choose the level (here is STM16) click on the NEs then create.

 after creating the NP_Chain the SDH Server Trail got directly created

Creating succeeded

Conclusion
The protection in SDH network must be created before creating service using
Trail.
