About SCA:
SCA has been working in Afghanistan since 1982 and is presently managing
development programmes linked to Strategic Objectives concerning Health, Education
and Community Driven Development. With a total annual, budget of roughly USD 40
million. The total number of staff is around 5,700 of whom 15 are non-Afghans. The SCA
presence in Afghanistan consists of the Kabul Management Office (KMO), five Regional
Management Offices and two Liaison Offices. In Sweden SCA has 20 staff working at the
Stockholm Management Office (SMO) and around 3,500 members organized in local
chapters all over the country. In the last 10 years, SCA has undertaken a change process
moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a
developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based
programming and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals,
communities and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus
on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that
they may participate fully in society and influence their own development.
Job Description:
Conduct market assessment and identify the highly demanding and feasible products for
vocational trainings.
Collect the training materials, arrange a reasonable training facility, and coordinate the
participants into appropriate vocational centers.
Ensure that project activities are properly coordinated with stakeholders and stakeholders
are consulted during the project implementation.
Supervise all skill training courses in the province, to ensure that the trainers conduct
training based on agreed manual and quality.
Provide productive feedback to the vocational trainers that leads to the improvement of
vocational trainings.
Coordinate the food/cash distribution process and make sure that the cash/food grant
reaches to the intended recipients in an appropriate manner and does create any conflict.
Finalize the list of materials and equipment that are planned to be granted to the
vocational training graduates.
Follow the procurement process with procurement/logistic units to timely avail the
materials and equipment to the beneficiaries.
Once the vocational trainings are completed, closely monitor the beneficiaries utilizing the
provided equipment and address any pertaining issue in close collaboration with RD
Manager.
Participate actively in strategy discussion/meetings on vocational trainings and provide
the required technical feedback.
Ensure that the necessary data is collected with desired quality from the relevant province
under the project and sent to RDPU.
Ensure that the vocational training materials are regularly updated
Ensure proper project coordination with different units of GRMO are ensured especially
with the Education Program.
Any other duty or responsibility assigned by the RD Manager.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from recognized college or university in Economics, Business
Administration, Agriculture, or any other related professional field. Master’s degree is
preferred
2 - 3 years relevant experience with bachelor’s degree.
Computer skills including MS Office package.
Fluency in English and Dari and Pashto, both written and spoken
Interpersonal and communication skills
Experience of planning, reporting, and budgeting
Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites within Afghanistan and adjust to SCA
environment
