Article Abstract (Cut and In this paper, graphene transistors are introduced to be a

Paste) suitable solution for extending low-power designs. Static

and current mode logic (CML) styles on nanoscale graphene

and silicon FINFET technologies are compared. Results

show that power in CML styles is approximately

independent of frequency, and the graphene-based CML (G-

CML) designs are more power-efficient as the frequency

and complexity increase. Compared to silicon-based CML

(Si-CML) normal cells, there is a 94% reduction in power

consumption for G-CML counterparts. Furthermore, a G-

CML 4-bit adder offers 8.9 and 1.7 times less power and

delay than the Si-CML adder.

Subject or Topic of The use of graphene transistors for extension of low-power

Article designs.

One takeaway from the One important point from the article is about the

article improvement of low-powered designs. Low-power designs

have become very common in VLSI developers using

different methods for reducing power, such as the use of

transistor sizing, the logic styles, and the threshold decrease.

Although these approaches have worked in the past, they

still have some challenges which result in more challenges

for the VLSI developer, thus making them ineffective when

scaling up is necessary. These challenges can be resolved by

using a double-dimensional material inform of transistor

channels specifically after the successful preparation of the

graphene samples has been attained. Graphene is a high-

electrical and thermal conductor, making it a good

replacement for previous semiconductor materials. This

helps in reducing the amount of power consumed which

improves the efficiency of the designs.
