LESSON 2.1 ELEMENTS OF THE GENRE

C. OTHER EXPERIMENTAL TEXTS

TYPOGRAPHY – the typography of poetry represents an unbroken history

progressing from manuscripts to the most recent combination of editorial software’s
and printing techniques. The whole poem, usually consisting of a title and a sequence
of lines, is the biggest part of the structure of which the line is the unit.
GENRE-CROSSING TEXTS - A cross-genre (or hybrid genre) is a genre that blends
themes and elements from two or more different genres. Hybrid genres are not new
but a longstanding element in the fictional process: perhaps the most famous
example is William Blake's Marriage of Heaven and Hell, with its blend of poetry,
prose, and engravings.

G. Application
Direction: Rewrite the given prose into poetry.

“THE DOG AND THE SCENT BOTTLE”

Come over, my dear, good, beautiful doggie and smell this excellent perfume
which comes from the best perfumer of Paris. And the doh, wagging his tail,
which, I believe, is that poor creature’s way of laughing and smiling, came up
and put his curious move on the unscented bottle.

IV. Evaluation

Direction: Write a poem in the typography form and present it in a video clip.

V. Assignment
 Choose any prose and rewrite it into poetry.
