Good morning Philippines it is Saturday, October 17, 10:43 A.M and I am Zeruiah Reanna Gesite for your
morning and noon off.

We begin this out with the devastating massacre at Thailand inside the Uthai tawan daycare center. An
ex-policeman performed a horrific act destroying the serenity of the small suburb town located at Uthai
tawan. Panya Kamrab was the name police gave to the attacker, a father who forcibly went inside the
locked room containing the children who were said to be sleeping, bringing with him a shotgun, pistol,
and a knife which were illegaly obtained. I shall warn you, the clips shown may be distressing for some
viewers.

According to police statement, 19 boys, three girls, and two adults were among those killed in the
building.

Mira/Zen: A nations grief, anger and devastation.

Mira/zen: (translation) "It all went by so fast, he kept slasing the knife and didn't use the gun, he just
stabbed them all in there, all by a knife." (show clip from bbc news interview of a survivor during the
attack https://youtu.be/-Bxit05bSmA )
The attacker also shot at least nine other people dead, whom were all passers-by, as he fled from the
nursery. Police identified Panya Kamrab as an ex-policeman who served as a local police sergeant before
being dismissed from his post over drug allegations, police claim he went home after the first attack
where he shot dead his wife and child before turning the weapon on himself. Most of the children who
perished at the childcare center, were stabbed to death, according to authorities, in one of the greatest
child death tolls in a single murder in recent history. 23 children, ages ranging from 1-5 years old died
along with the teachers, one to be said was 8 year old pregnant. Only one of all the children inside
survived. The death toll was reported to have 37 people, including the shooter himself. With the on
going investigation, police say that their focus is on the attackers motive.Ms Panchum the headteacher
of the daycare center said there just over 20 students present over more than 90 due to the school bus
breakdown and bad weather.

MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) continues its duty in preparing for
Sangguniang kabataan and barangay elections despite unwanted postponements, said Chairman Edwin
George Garcia with his statement, on Wednesday. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recently signed into
law the bill that suspended the elections on October 10, originally scheduled much later on December
this year.

“For now, we shall continue with our preparations for the BSKE [barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan
elections],” Garcia said as he proposes the election's continuation.

Garcia is determined to revisit its planned contracts and information campaigns of the Comelec as the
voter registration also made its way back and is being continued.

“We hope that hopefuls for barangay and SK positions and the voting public would also take this time to
prepare and reflect on their rights and duties which they will exercise through their ballots and eventual
offices,” Garcia said.
“I have conveyed the Comelec position with regard to postponement of the BSKE to the legislature and
the president and I trust that such position was duly noted and considered,” he added as he was
determined to continue the elections stating that its cancellation would not save the funds. This brings
hope to those that were robbed of the opportunity in continuing the elections and brining it back to
where it should be.

Next up the new Capitol Building nears completion. Reign Kiezher, any updates?

Kiezher:

A new capitol building will soon rise in the capitol complex as the provincial government led by
Governor Ben Evardone. As We can see here, this is the perspective of the proposed model of the
Capitol Building (points at the Picture nga aadto ha Capitolyo), and it is much more larger and bigger
compared to the old building.

Ben Evardone, the governor of Eastern Samar, is prepared to spruce up the region by undertaking a
massive construction project to create a new capitol that resembles a regional White House. When
ambient lighting is added to the building pillars at night, the already stunning exterior seems even more
stunning. The Capitol Building Has Been Up There for 5 decades already. We can remember that the
governor posted the proposed building on his Instagram Account, on 2020. The construction of the
building, began in 2020. The building is located in Barangay Alangalang, Borongan City. It is situated on
(number) square meters of land and is a (number)story building. The building’s total floor area is
(number) square meters. The budget was approximately (chcuchcuchu pesos), and it is most likely to be
finished in 2023. June 30, 2020 was the ground breaking ceremony for this project, and was led by the
government officials. (Cue pictures of the Groundbreaking ceremony.

Interviews a government official: What do you think about this New Capitol Building?
The Capitol Building is proof that the city is developing. The building is for easy access of both the
employees and the stakeholders. A dream was being built when work on the building started in 2020, it
wasn't just stone on stone. The Building is a symbol of the perseverance and optimism of the people of
the province. That pioneer spirit hasn't changed, and for years it has been an important part of the city
and the province's lives and soon the capitol building will be open again, with a new face. That is all from
here, we will inform you for more updates.

campus. Mira.

Mira:

We are now inside the ESNCHS school campus grounds and as we can see here, students are giving their
all to practice the national exercise of DepEd, the galaw Pilipinas.

Galaw Pilipinas is a four-minute calisthenics exercise that is now part of all students under DepEd. As the
country's national martial art and sport, the routine was influenced by easy motions from folk dances,
festival movements, and arnis stances.

“The Department developed Galaw Pilipinas as a response to the impact of the pandemic to our
learners’ reduced physical activities that affected their overall health. Our role in promoting physical
fitness and a healthy lifestyle among our learners has become even more relevant and essential. One
avenue of promoting physical fitness among learners is by doing calisthenics,” Education Chief Leonor
Magtolis Briones noted.

The students of Comprehensive National Highschool shows their best to win a school competition of this
routine, now here we see Grade 9 students performs in front of the crowd and judges, one who happens
to be a composer of the Galaw Pilipinas.

program Galaw Pilipinas? What did you feel while composing, I suppose you felt joyful and excited to
take part in such a program? Thank you so much Ma'am. Lastly, what can you tell the children,
moreover students who participate in this routine? It was such a nice opportunity to be talking to you,

Borongan City initiates its second archery tournament at the People's Center, formerly JTR Sports
Complex, located at Barangay Songco bringing archery, a sport still in its infancy into the city. Consisting
of several age categories ranging from 10-16 years old and an open category for above 18, the
tournament began having most of the event taking place and ending with the open category and the
awarding of the tournament's winners. The Palarong Pambansa athletes were asked about their journey
after their prime and thus gave inspiring answers. Nikko Anthony Fabula, Palarong Pambansa athlete,
was vocal about his journey after his golden days as an archer saying he only worked on his remaining
time since he was already at his late high school years.

the addition of how he felt returning to archery. For John Patrick Gabuco from Calingatan, archery was
the sport he saw the best in his potential, same as the others, but was able to continue his passion in a
different way.Coach Santiago Fabula Jr., president of the Borongan City Archery Club, went on to explain
how the tournament was made possible.
//TEXT LAIN: ("It's organized with the assistance and partnership of the city government and Borongan
City Information Office, particularly Sir Rupert Ambin via donations of equipment, which made it
possible for us to have a chance to organize the tournament.") The awarding started in the afternoon as
the top 3 winners from each category received tokens & cash prizes. Its conclusion paved the way for
the athletes to bring what is in store for the future, further solidifying the tournament's purpose, to
send the athletes to represent our city in the next Batang Pinoy competition and other regional to
national level tournaments.
