PREPARATION

1. MAKE CERTAIN THAT THE LANDING GEAR GROUND


LOCKING PINS ARE IN PLACE.

2. MAKE CERTAIN THAT THERE ARE NO OBSTACLE


WHICH COULD OBSTRUCT JACKING.

JACKING

NOTE: NORMAL PROCEDURE TO JACK THE MAIN GEAR


FOR WHEEL REPLACEMENT IS BY USING A
HYDRAULIC JACK IN CONJUNCTION WITH JACK
ADAPTOR.
IF JACK (P/N TMHMA02) IS NOT AVAILABLE,
ANOTHER JACK TYPE CAN BE USED PROVIDED
THAT IT HAS AN APPROPRIATE HYDRAULIC JACK
ADAPTED TO THE LANDING GEAR JACKING POINT
AND IT HAS SUITABLE DIMENSIONS TO FIT
STRAIGHT UNDER THE JACKING POINT.
IF NEITHER THE JACK NOR THE JACK ADAPTOR
ARE AVALAIBLE A TAPERED BLOCK (RAMP)
COULD BE INTRODUCED BEHIND ONE WHEEL SO
AS TO CLEAR OFF THE OTHER FROM THE GROUND

1. JACKING USING JACK WITH ADAPTOR


REF. FIG. 072100-JUP-00100
A. POSITION JACK ADAPTOR TO FORWARD FIXING
POINT (1) OF THE TRAILING ARM AND MAKE
CERTAIN THAT JACK PAD (2) IS CORRECTLY
ENGAGED.
B. POSITION JACK AND OPERATE IT IN ORDER TO
BRING THE TOOL JACK PAD AND THE JACK ITSELF
INTO CONTACT.
C. CHECK FOR THE CORRECT SEATING OF THE JACK
PAD AT JACK.

D. OPERATE THE JACK IN ORDER TO JACK THE WHEEL


AT MINIMUM 25 MM (1 IN) GROUND CLEARANCE.

2. LOWERING
A. SLOWLY OPERATE THE JACK HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR
CONTROL IN ORDER TO AVOID AN OVERABRUPT LO-
WERING OF THE AIRCRAFT ONTO ITS WHEELS.

3. JACKING USING JACK


A. POSITION JACK UNDER JACK PAD (2) AND
OPERATE IT IN ORDER TO BRING JACK PAD AND
JACK ITSELF IN CONTACT.
B. CHECK FOR CORRECT SEATING OF JACK PAD AT
JACK.
C. OPERATE JACK IN ORDER TO JACK WHEEL AT 25MM
(1 IN.) MINIMUM GROUND CLEARANCE.

4. LOWERING
A. SLOWLY OPERATE JACK HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR
CONTROL IN ORDER TO AVOID AN OVERABRUPT
LOWERING OF AIRCRAFT ONTO ITS WHEELS.

5. JACKING USING RAMP


REF. FIG. 072100-JUP-00101
A. POSITION THE RAMP IN CORRESPONDENCE OF THE
WHEEL WHICH MUST NOT BE REPLACED.
B. MAKE CERTAIN THAT THE PARKING BRAKES ARE
RELEASED.
C. TOW THE AIRCRAFT (SEE JIC 091100-TWG
10000) ON THE RAMP UNTIL THE WHEEL WHICH
MUST BE REMOVED IS AT LEAST 25 MM (1 IN)
OFF THE GROUND.
D. APPLY PARKING BRAKES.
E. DO NOT DISCONNECT TRUCK-TOW BAR FROM
AIRCRAFT.

6. LOWERING
A. RELEASE PARKING BRAKES.
B. PUSH BACK THE AIRCRAFT UNTIL WHEEL IS CLEAR
OF RAMP.
C. DISCONNECT TOW BAR FROM AIRCRAFT (SEE JIC
