1 ONGOING INSPECTION CHECK LIST
1.01 Confirm units are clean and stored in air conditioned room keeping equipment dry. Environment Ongoing
should be 60-80 F (15.6 – 26.7 C) & Humidity shall be less than 90%.
Computer equipment and electronic parts shall be stored in this condition.
1.02 Confirm units are clean and stored indoor or under shelter on hard standing or on pallets. All Ongoing
rotating equipment shall be stored indoor or sheltered until needed for installation.
1.03 Drive couplings if shipped loose shall be stored as per manufacturer's recommendations. Ongoing
1.04 Check equipment is free from mechanical damage. Ongoing

1.05 Confirm all paint/surface coatings are free from damage. Ongoing

1.06 Desiccant bags is provided and checked for condition, quantity and replace as necessary. Ongoing

1.07 Ensure all holes for entry cable are plugged properly at terminal box. Ongoing

1.08 All flanged openings shall be provided with vinyl cap or metal closure with gasket or substantial Ongoing
wood closures (3/4” thickness minimum) and at least four full diameter bolts to protect the flanges
from damage and prevent the entry of dirt and moisture to the equipment interior. Wooden covers
should not directly in contact with flange surfaces. Plastic sheet, rubber sheet, or equal shall be
placed in between. Wooden cover shall not be used for extended outdoor storage more than 3
months.
1.09 Plastic wrapping shall be removed for outdoor storage. Ongoing

1.10 Stainless steel and other exotic materials shall be stored separately from carbon steel materials, Ongoing

1.11 Desiccant shall not be used to protect rubber and stainless-steel products, Ongoing

1.12 All stainless steel and other exotic materials fitting and flanges shall be stored indoor. Ongoing

1.13 Confirm that all necessary covers, end caps and plugs are in position and replace any that are Ongoing

1.14 Confirm all instruments on packages or skids are in good condition with no visible damage. Ongoing

1.15 Check all openings and hook up connections are closed/blinded. Ongoing

1.16 Confirm dampers are in good condition and protected from contamination. Ongoing

1.17 Confirm all cabinets, panels, junction box’s, enclosure doors and covers have not been damaged Ongoing
during the inspection checks. Confirm they are replaced / installed correctly.
1.18 All panel fronts, gauges and in line instrumentation adequately protected from construction activity. Ongoing

1.19 Ensure equipment that is installed is protected suitably from any ongoing construction activities to Ongoing
prevent any damage.
1.20 Confirm preservation tag or label is fitted & updated. Ongoing

2 DAILY INSPECTION CHECK LIST


2.01 Check that compartment anti condensation heater is connected & working. Daily
3 WEEKLY INSPECTION CHECK LIST
3.01 All rotating equipment internally protected with a lubricating oil base rust preventative shall be Weekly
manually turned two or three revolutions at one week intervals. Care should be taken that the final
position of the shafts after turning is at least one quarter revolution from the point at which rotation
was started (to avoid Brinelling). Oil levels shall be checked at the time of rotation. A preservation
log shall be kept to record these actions.
3.02 Shipped loose items are stored as per manufacturers recommendation Weekly
4 MONTHLY INSPECTION CHECK LIST
4.01 All threaded, beveled, exposed machined surfaces, exposed shaft, plungers, piston rods, Monthly
couplings, etc. shall be coated with rust preventative.
4.02 Any open threaded connection shall be plugged or capped after coating with a grease base, rust Monthly
preventative.
4.03 Valve stem, gland, packing and bushing shall be covered with Denso tape or equal to prevent Monthly
ingress of dust and other foreign materials. Stems on gate and globe valves shall be greased to
prevent rusting.
4.04 All internal, unpainted surfaces shall be protected against corrosion by fogging (spraying) with a Monthly

lubricating oil base rust preventative or filling with an inert gas, depending on the nature of the
service and type of equipment.
4.05 Bearing housings shall be filled to the bottom of the shaft/labyrinth bushings with preservation oil Monthly
for ball, roller and sleeve type bearings and pad type thrust bearings.
4.06 Check that any greased bearings contain adequate grease. Monthly
4.07 Check oil bath bearing, housings & lube systems are full & preserved and oil drain and inlet are Monthly
plugged with metal or plastic plug).
4.08 Confirm turbine enclosure is preserved with and completely sealed. Monthly
4.09 Verify turbine ventilation and exhaust duct blinded is fitted and there is no degradation of refractory Monthly
lining.
