TITLETITTLE: The effect of different typestype of soil on the rate of tomato seeds.
PROBLEM STATEMENT: Tomato seeds that were seed planted in cottonpaper tissue might grow
faster than in soil, cotton, sand or sawdust.

HYPOTHESIS: Ifif the same tomato seeds were planted in each soil type {cotton and soil} and
watered daily, then each seed will take 2-4 weeks to sprout and when reproduce it’s a little bigger than
its original sizegrow.

Aim: Toto determine whether cottonpaper tissue or soilsawdust is the best planting formation.
MATERIALS: 25 planting bags, 6 tomato seeds, soil, sawdust, cotton, paper tissues, sand, water, date,
and time tracker.

PROCEDURES:
1. Fill thea first planting bag with soil

2.Fill thea second bag with cotton

3.Fill a third bag with sawdust

4.Fill a fourth bag with sand

5.Fill a fifth bag with paper tissues.

36. Gently place 2-3 single tomato seed in each bagplant and gently water them botheach bag.

47.leave each bag where sun light hits during the day.

58.Water each bag twice every two days and track each day till a seed sprout.

69.continue tracking each bag till bothall eventually reproducesprout.

VARIABLES:
Independent variable: tomato seeds.

Dependent variable: rate of which the seeds sprout.

Controlled variable: environment where the bags with seeds are placed for photosynthesis.
