About Skills Training And Rehabilitation Society:
Skills Training and Rehabilitation Society (STARS) was established by a group of
intellectual Afghans in 1997 to offer to help hand to the needy country people,
particularly women and children. STARS has been working in Afghanistan since 1997,
helping to tackle the country’s nutritional problems along with the provision of other
DRR and development services, and supporting vulnerable people to improve their
livelihoods. STARS helped food insecure individuals through local markets with the help
of donors. STARS supports emergency nutrition programs, providing ready-to-use foods
in response to severe malnutrition in Afghanistan.
STARS is registered with the Ministry of Economy, DAIL, and MOLSAMD and has close
coordination and project agreements with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Public Health,
Agriculture, Rural Rehabilitation Development, and some government provincial
departments. STARS has close coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs
and is one of the active members of the Child Protection Action Network (CPAN) in
Afghanistan. STARS is the co-chair of the National Action Coordination Group (NAGC) in
Afghanistan since 2011.
STARS is a member of the Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief (ACBAR), Afghan
Women Network (AWN), civil society Empowerment Network (CEN) at the national level.
It’s mention-able that STARS is the only women-focused organization in Afghanistan,
working in the DRR sector. STARS is a member of the Asian Disaster Risk Reduction And
Response Network (ADRRN) since 2006. In addition, STARS attended many South Asia
Initiative to End Violence against Children (SAIEVAC) meetings which are the Apex body
of SAARC at the international level
Job Description:
Develop training materials for training for community members.
Conduct training sessions for beneficiaries in target communities.
Evaluate the knowledge and skills of community members who received training to make
sure that the training approach is in accurate manner.
Vaccinate livestock and check vital signs of hens to make sure, there is no life-threatening
diseases amongst livestock.
Provide necessary medication for ill hens and applying the medication urgently within
program life period.
Evaluates training by evaluating the effectiveness of training to specific job applications.
Maintains safe and healthy training environment by following organization standards and
legal regulations.
Implement teaching plan in accordance with the approved curriculum.
Conduct practical work and site visit to ensure the utilization of the skilled and knowledge
gained through training.
Conduct regular assessment on the progress of the trainees.
Ensure the confidentiality of the filing/documents.
Identify trainees’ strengths and individual interests.
Enable and support the trainees to participate in recreational and group activities.
Promote safety and assess risks associated with the Trainees’ behaviors and activities in
the training center under the direction of the Provincial Supervisor.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Undertake practical tasks relating to the support of the placements.
Promote trainees’ equality, diversity, rights, and responsibilities.
Continue to develop your own knowledge and practice.
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years of working in international/national NGOs in a similar position
University Degree in Agriculture
Problem-solving skills

Job Description:
Facilitate community-based planning and community-based participation in the
targeted activities.
Data collection and working with the community for their best suggestions for project
activities
Assist the province field staff and husbandry trainers in conducting the training and also
distribution of packages.
Develop and implement a community mobilization plan.
Mobilize and motivate the target community.
Inspire a sense of contribution, participation, and self-reliance in the target
communities.
Establish and develop good mutual understanding and cooperation between the
FAO/partner and the people.
Maintain good working relations with authorities.
Involve all stakeholders in the project including gender equality.
Support project initiation, progress, project review, and final completion.
Identify areas where technical support to the project is required.
Data collection through the KOBO platform.
Establishment of community committees for different activities.
Identify beneficiaries for alternative livelihood activities and engage in the input
distribution
Other Activities:
Conduct awareness raising campaigns inside the people, CDCs and communities.
Prepare list of participants in the awareness raising campaigns and project orientation.
Support input distribution for FAO packages, cash and non-cash items.
Support implementation of alternative livelihood activities.
Support and facilitate community meetings.
Job Requirements:
University degree in Forestry Geography Environment Natural Resource Management
Agriculture Horticulture or closely related field.
