#8 His career path was far from perfect

Let us paint a picture of how it all began. He got his stage name J-Black when he was only12-years-
old. It seems like rapping and legal troubles were an essential part of his everyday life since child-
hood. He was expelled from school in the fifth grade and was arrested for carjacking in middle school.
At a very young age, Kodak Black was placed into a juvenile detention center three times in one year
and then placed on probation. It was during his probation, that the young troublemaker decided to
put his energy into his music career. And that’s when The CEO of Dollaz N Dealz, A.D. Julien comes
into play. He saw a star quality in Kodak Black that he had never seen before. Kodak was wise, hard-
working, and had the ability to light up a room with his presence. He decided to invest in Kodak
Black’s solo career and signed him to the DND label. Seems like a great happy ending right? Well, ac-
cording to Kodak, the record company he signed for had 'screwed him over' with a bad contract. The
rapper blames his foolish young age for going along with the contract, as he was just 16-years-old at
that time.

#7 Lil Boosie was his biggest inspiration

Just like we mentioned, Kodak started rapping in elementary school. Ever since his early teens, the
Pompano Beach-native has been obsessed with the craft, with many musical artists as his early inspi-
rations. One of those artists being - Lil Boosie. He discovered Boosie with his debut album, Youngest
of da Camp, which was released in 2000 when Boosie was only 17. Kodak was inspired by Boosie’s
style as well as by his success. Kodak thought if Lil Boosie could become successful in his career and
make a living rapping, he could do the same. But surprisingly enough, Kodak turned down his
record-deal offer from his idol. Kodak explained in the Hollywood shuffle interview, that Boosie tried
to sign him up with a shockingly small amount of money, which Kodak was not OK with. But no
need to worry, because the fellow rappers are still close friend, and they even collaborated on a song
together
#6 Kodak black identifies as a Hebrew Israelite
Another interesting fact you may not know about Kodak Black, is that the rapper identifies as a He-
brew Israelite. Hebrew Israelites - also known as Black Hebrews, are a group of African American de-
scendants of ancient Israelites. When the young rapper was serving his time behind bars, he had the
opportunity to convert to Judaism, with the help of a priest who practiced scriptures with him. His
faith inspired him so much, Kodak decided to change his name to Bill Kahan Blanco, with Kahan re-
ferring to a priest in the prophet Aaron. On May 2, 2018, he legally changed his name from "Dieuson
Octave" to "Bill Kahan Kapri".

#5 Kodak black is on Donald Trump’s Pardon List

Robbery, battery, false imprisonment of a child and possession of cannabis. Here are just some of the
things the rapper was found guilty of. But that's not all. Because, apart from his highly publicized sex-
ual assault case of 2016, Kodak also pleaded guilty to a firearms possession charge. In March of 2020,
the Florida-native was caught crossing the Canadian-American border, with a firearm by his side.
This little stunt landed the rapper 46 months in federal prison. But hours before President Joe Biden
was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States, Former President Donald Trump granted
clemency to 143 people, including rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black. The 23-year-old rapper was
let go from custody, and Kodak Black later expressed his gratitude to President Donald Trump

#4 Kapri has a son

When it comes to his personal life - Kodak Black has had his fair share of surprises. Just recently, the
23-year-old musician found out he actually has a son with his ex-partner - Jammiah Broomfield. Ac-
cording to the rapper, his son is named King Khalid Octave, and he is a 6-year-old bright and ener-
getic little boy. But if finding out about his child wasn't shocking enough, Kodak Black had to go
through a difficult lawsuit against his ex-partner and her new boyfriend. According to reports, the
rapper has to pay his child's mother $4,200 every month until 2033. Also, let’s not forget that Kodak
bought a golden grill for his son. What can we say? Like father, like son.

#3 Kodak Black has a $150,000 smile

We did not just randomly mention his son’s golden grill for nothing. Kodak Black, known for iconic
gold teeth, suddenly altered his signature look by surgically removing all 24 of his gold teeth the day
after his 20th birthday. To prove the surgery was real, Kodak Black actually went live on social me-
dia, so his loyal fans could follow along the teeth removal process. While we all thought pearly white
teeth was the final look he was going for, Kodak went back to the dentist a week later, to upgrade his
teeth to diamonds. The rapper added diamonds to his top and bottom row of teeth in order to really
seal the deal on having a $150,000 smile. I mean, why not?

#2 Cardi B used Kodak Black's flow on ‘Bodak Yellow’

Die-hard hip hop fans know, that Cardi B's critically acclaimed song 'Bodak Yellow' took inspiration
from Kodak Black's song 'No Flockin'. When reporters asked about Cardi B about the similarities, the
27-year-old rapper was quick to admit to stealing his flow. But it wasn't only the Bronx-native who
commented on the similar rap styles. Kodak Black later went on to his Instagram Live to clear the air
by stating: "I want Cardi B to make all the money. Soak all that s*** up, make all the money." Further-
more he dropped a new music video on “Flocking 2”, respectively – “Bodak Orange”. It’s safe to say,
that he’s one of the few artists, who remixed his own song…

#1 Kodak donated $50,000 to son of XXXTentacion

And the last interesting fact we will be covering today, is all about Kodak Black's incredible gift.
Many fans were shocked to hear, that Kodak Black was actually very close to the late rapper -
XXXTentacion. Even though there isn't much information on how the fellow rappers met, one
thing's for sure - the musicians had great respect and admiration for one another. Which is why, Ko-
dak didn't hesitate to give a $50,000 check to the late rapper's son – Gekyume.
As we mentioned, fans didn't know much about their friendship, except for what Kodak shared after
X's passing. Kodak said he was in his prison dorm when he heard someone say, "He ain't dead." The
rapper said he refused to intrude in the conversation, so he turned on the radio to get the scoop. After
he realized it was X was fatally shot, Kodak had trouble listening to the rapper's work.
