I. Title of the Activity: 2022 Brigada Eskwela

II. Objective: To bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute
their time, effort, and resources to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the school
year in August. To ensure that education must continue amidst the challenges and uncertainties
of face-to-face classes brought by Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

IX. Narrative Report

The Department of Education (DepEd) releases DepEd Order (DO) No. 034, s. 2022 entitled School
Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2022-2023 together with the External Partnerships Service
(EPS) for the Brigada Program in preparation for the opening of classes for School Year 2022-2023 on
August 22, 2022. And this will be composed of different components to be implemented starting August 1
to 26, 2022 for its Brigada Eskwela sa Paghahanda and shall continue with the year-round Brigada Eskwela
Plus and Brigada Pagbasa. This component strengthens the literacy program implemented by the department
and to enhance the reading capability of the learners.

In preparation for the opening of classes, relative to DepEd Memorandum No. 062, s. 2022 Conalum
National High School implemented a Brigada Eskwela Program from August 1 to August 26, 2022 with a
theme “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik Aral”. This activity focus on collaboration
and strengthening partnership and to ensure the delivery of quality basic education notwithstanding the
COVID-19 Pandemic since face-to-face classes will be implemented. So, this program needs the support of
dedicated school personnel, cooperative parents, accountable community and innovative learners.

The traditional concept of Brigada Eskwela, which involves physical cleaning, painting, repainting,
and doing minor repairs, will still happen but not all activities during the Brigada Eskwela implementation
period this year. However, considering the schools are being used in the preparation of the learning packets,
including the picking up and returning of the same by the parents, physical cleaning and disinfection may be
allowed.
