Factors Why Parents Become Violent With Their Children
Factors Why Parents Become Violent With Their Children
The social life of a child begins with his family environment. Parents and siblings are
essential for the formation of behavior patterns. For this reason, when a child lives in a
violent environment, they can imitate and adopt similar behavior.
Many times people confuse domestic violence for physical aggression, however this
problem also manifests itself psychologically and mentally. Behaviors of this type are
present in insults, hurtful words, contempt and indifference. These attitudes often affect
children consciously or unconsciously.
Another factor that usually happens in cases of family violence is the education received.
Many patterns of violence are repeated when a parent was a victim of it during their
childhood. Therefore, they tend to raise their children in the same way they were raised.
Relief from violence received is also usually a factor in these cases. Many times one of the
parents exerts violence on the other and the victim becomes the victimizer of the children
to try to release the contained anger. In these situations, all members of the family are
affected.
