Instruction:
1. In reference to the P.I.C.O. lecture, read the following journal article:
Saligan, L. N., Farmer, C., Ballard, E. D., Kadriu, B., & Zarate, C. A. (2019).
Disentangling the association of depression on the anti-fatigue effects of
ketamine. Journal of Affective Disorders, 244, 42-45. doi:
https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jad.2018.10.089

2. Identify the problem, intervention, comparison and outcome in this EBP study.

Disentangling the association of depression on the anti-fatigue effects of ketamine

Problem Anti-fatigue effects of ketamine linked by the association of depression

Intervention Single dose of ketamine (o.5mg/kg intravenous dose)

Comparison Placebo

Outcome Ketamine did not have a unique effect on fatigue independent of its
general antidepressant effects. Furthermore, ketamine's anti-fatigue
effects can be explained by its localized effects on amotivation and
depression.
