SCHOOL CONTINGENCY PLAN FOR TYPHOON

BACKGROUND

Bungahan Elementary School is just one of the small school in Ibaan,


District. It is located at Bungahan, Ibaan, Batangas and is surrounded by sugar
cane plantation. The location of the school is 2.5km away from the municipality.
It has a land area of 1217 square meters. On the 1528(census 2020) population
of the barangay, most of them are Roman Catholic and are embracing Catholic
way of living with Tagalog as their predominant dialect spoken. Most of them
are professionals, government workers, private employee factory workers and
some are OFW and farmers.
Most of the residents earn a living through a livestock production
(piggery, cattle farming and crop production). They are involved in farming like
planting dalandan, rice, corn, and sugar cane plantation. Some people engage
in small retail business like sari-sari store and peddling.
Bungahan Elementary School personnel and barangay officials joined
their support in the implementation of DRRM in the school. Each member has
their own responsibilities on how to overcome the problems in case of disaster.

II OBJECTIVES

This 2021-2022 TYPHOON Contingency Plan covers 175 school learners and 8 personnel. It is focus and
answer in the following objectives.

1. To save people in times of calamity


2. To give alternative method on how the clients become safe.
3. Let the school personnel and barangay officials aware of any unexpected
calamity that may happen in the school
4. Tap the internal and external stakeholders in the implementation of DRRM
activities in the school.

III HAZARDS

One of the hazard that affects in our school is typhoon. This is unpredictable phenomena which
beyond our control.

The hazards in our school are the school arc, plant box in front of classrooms, broken ceiling
and all pathways inside the school .

education for all learners. All materials needed must be provided in order to improve their academic achievement.

VIII IMPLEMENTING PARTNERS

Partnership of persons concerned are important in the implementation of DRRM in the School .For
the unexpected calamities that may strike in the school, 100% supports from LGU, Community, Stakeholders and
Teachers are very much needed. Casualties will be minimize if not totally avoided when everybody contribute
her/his time, effort and dedication .
