WHAT IS OLYMPUS MONS?
Olympus Mons is a shield volcano located in Mars’
western hemisphere. It is the largest volcano in the
solar system at 72,000 ft tall (two and a half times
the height of Mount Everest) and 374 miles wide
(nearly the size of the state of Arizona). Mars’
atmosphere is so thin that the volcano’s peak
actually pokes out above it, meaning that if one
were to hike to the summit of Olympus Mons, they
would hike into space.
 REQUIREMENTS FOR
TRAVELING OLYMPUS MONS

So, if we wanted to climb this mountain, we would need lots of food and water that lasted
for many
days.

Another requirement would be some sort of hiking equipment and also pretty well
elaborated space suits so we could survive Mars temperature

Plus we would need lots of oxygen tanks, For matter of fact, When we are high up our body
fights more and more to get the amount of oxygen we require to stay conscious

FACT

In 2003, Mars made its closest approach to

Earth in nearly 60,000 years! It won't be that
close again until the year 2287. When Mars and
Earth are close to each other, Mars appears
very bright in our sky.
