Regular Activities
FAMBRAS has its own useful key-activities carried out in national territory. One of
the projects is named Islam Solidarity, which act according to the very Islamic principles and
help, beside Muslims, believers of all other faith living below the poverty line.

On weekends filled with activities, thousands of people are assisted by the project,
which assembles a large structure on the streets, with tents for health care, social assistance,
beauty and culture.

Health services are among the most sought after. In total, the project has conducted
more than 5,250 medical examinations and laboratory (mammography, vision test, blood
tests, blood pressure measurement), consultations for nutritional counseling and dental care.
The partnership for the accomplishment of a good part of these attendances is carried out
with the Colégio 24 de Março, that maintains courses in the health area

In the period of Ramadan, the help extends to the needy Brazilian communities and to
thousands of refugees recently arrived in Brazil, who needs basic food resources. Those, in
situation of social and economic vulnerability, participate in sharing the meat throughout the
holy month in mosques.

The Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil, hand in hand with institutions and
corporations from all over the globe, performs projects to help the poorest ones. Among
them, one is specifically aimed at Ramadan: the donation of a large number of lambs, which
make it possible to hold dinners in the entity.

Within “Know the Islam”, the Detainees Project was born. The project consists of
FAMBRAS members paying visits to prisons to clarify doubts regarding Islam, distribute
informational materials and provide appropriate clothing, prayer mats and books.

Another activity of FAMBRAS is the free distribution of Islamic books to followers

and non-followers at various spots and events across the country. Its first edition happened at
an fair called Sao Paulo International Book Biennial, and today, the project reaches the figure
of 4.5 million book copies delivered. The project was conceived after researches at book fairs
and places of largely busy paths, in which it was found that most Brazilian citizens do not
know the Islamic religion or have a distorted view about it. The aim is to bring true Islam
wisdom to all the people of the country, ensuring that they become more aware about the
religion.

The organization is also present in large-scale events in Brazil. At the 2014 World
Cup, FAMBRAS realized the need to welcome the Muslim tourists, as well as to disseminate
knowledge of the religion to non-Muslims.

During the World Cup, more than 2 million booklets were handed out and Guide
Muslim Fan, a guide for Muslim tourists. The goal of this project was to let Muslim tourists
know the location of mosques and Islamic centers, where to get Halal food, prayer in local
times, useful phone numbers and addresses of consulates and embassies of Islamic Arab
countries.
