PANGALAC (ADVANTAGES)

Capital punishment is the death penalty given by the government

of a country, to people who have committed hideous crimes like
homicide, rape, etc. Death penalty has been a way of punishing
people since ages. Although there are some countries that have
abolished death penalty from their law, there are still many which
still practice the act of killing a person for crime. Death penalty is
prevalent in the US, Asian and Middle Eastern countries. Some of
the ways of executing criminals are hanging, shooting,
electrocution and giving lethal injections. People have different
opinions on the issue of death penalty given to a convict. While
some think that death penalty is necessary for those who have
committed a terrible crime, there are others who consider it as an
immoral act that goes against the values of humanity.

Advantages:
1.A person who has committed a crime like killing or raping
another person should be given death penalty, which is as severe
punishment as the act. It is said that when a criminal is given a
death penalty, it dissuades others in the society from committing
such serious crimes. They would refrain from such crimes due to
fear of losing their lives. This would definitely help in reducing
crime rate in society.
2.If a criminal is jailed, he may again commit the same crime after
being released from prison. Giving him death penalty would make
sure that the society is safe from being attacked by criminals. It
seems to be an appropriate punishment for serial killers and for
those who continue to commit crimes even after serving
imprisonment.
3.Some believe that instead of announcing life imprisonment for
the convicts, where they would have to live a futile life behind
closed bars, it is better to kill them. It is said that imprisoning
someone is more expensive than executing him. Rather than
spending on a person who may again commit terrifying crime, it is
better to put him to death.
4.Death penalty is equated as revenge for pain and suffering that
the criminal inflicted on the victim. Some people strongly believe
that a person who has taken the life of another person does not
have a right to live. Sentencing such a criminal can give relief to

the family members of the victim that their loved one has
obtained justice.
5.It is also important for the safety of fellow prison inmates and
guards, as people who commit horrifying crimes like murder are
believed to have a violent personality and may, in future, attack
someone during imprisonment. These reasons emphasize the
importance of death penalty for the safety and betterment of
human society.

MAYONO (IMPORTANCE)
What is the importance of Death Penalty or Capital punishment? Well we all know
that Capital punishment has become an increasingly controversial issue over many
decades. The problem lies between, is the death penalty being accepted in
murder cases or ruled out completely. While some people feel that Capital
Punishment will not discourage crime, Capital punishment should be legalized in
all states, because it is morally just and it will deter crime. The many opponents of
capital punishment who are against it feel that the death penalty is not a
deterrent and that it is barbariaertic of the past. It has no place in a civilized
society today. One of the biggest arguments against capital punishment is people
feel that it violates the eighth amendment which forbids cruel and unusual
punishment. People against Capital Punishment believe the death penalty is
absurd and is in un-christian practice. Further more, they feel society should not"
encourage sentiments of vengenance cater to morbid interest in ritual execution."
Criminologists also built a strong case that the threat of death failed to deter
murder, anymore effectively than prison. Therefore, to inflict harm to one,it is
simply useless. However, the punishment fits the crime therefore, it is morally
just. Capital punishment is an expression of society's moral outrage at offensive
conduct. This may be appealing to many but it is essential in an ordered society. It
asks our citizens to rely on legal procedures rather than to self-help their wrongs
doings. It is morally right to sentence a person to the death penalty who has
commited a serious crime as murder. If someone has murdered a person it is
unethical to let the murderer live when you have an innocent person who is dead.
Capital Punishment has to be based entirely on consideration of justice and
morality. Finally, the death penalty is a deterrent against crimes. Statistics show
that the crime rate is reduced in all states that hold the death penalty. The point
given to these people is that they are less likely to commit a crime knowing they
will receive the ultimate punishment to kill. "No other punishment deters men so
effectively from committing crimes as the punishment of death". Still, Capital

Punishment is supported by many Americans. They usually rely on deterrence as
their main reason to deter people from committing serious crimes. Hopefully
Capital Punishment will be legalized in many states to eliminate violence from
american life. Many people feel Capital Punishment will not discourage crime. It
promotes murder rather than deter it. A desire for suicide is what leads some
murders to their criminal acts. Capital Punishment should remain legalized in all
states. The two main reasons and impotance of death penalty. It is morally just
and it will deter crime. The way our society is today we need to continue on with
the death penalty. It deters other murders and it protects our society from them.

HAYUHAY (FINAL STATEMENT)
Regardless of the argument, religion has absolutely no place in
our government or legal system. We are a country founded on
the separation of church and state, and despite how murky the
waters are in a lot of areas concerning religion and law, we
should be doing everything in our power to keep religion and
religious ideals out of government if we expect to continue being
a country with religious freedom and tolerance.
Then there is the argument that despite the lengthy and complex
judicial process for seeking the death penalty, it is still not
possible to guarantee that an innocent person will not be
sentenced.

The death penalty should be maintained, it is important that

stipulations be made on how it is implemented. Many people
wonder if victims and their families should have any say in
whether or not prosecutors seek the death penalty. In the Holmes
case, Arapahoe County District Attorney George
Brauchler personally talked to 60 family members of the Aurora
victims and his office as a whole reached out to about 800
relatives of the victims in order to help them make this
decision. It is my personal opinion that victims and those related
to victims in any way should not have a say, because then you are
dealing with vengeance, not justice. Once that line is crossed, it
is not fair to say that someone should be put to death because it
is not decided by an unbiased, unrelated third party.

When push comes to shove, capital punishment is a touchy
subject and there are many factors that work together when
figuring out if it is right or not. It seems that in the end, however,
it is the only fair way to deal with certain criminals past the point
of moral reason. It is truly the only way to show that in this
country, murder and terrorism will not be tolerated.

Many people think all human beings have the right to live, including
criminals, and they think that taking away their life is very cruel. They
think killing someone is cruel. How about those victims? Don’t they
have the right to live? Those criminals must have committed a serious
crime so they were punished with the death penalty, so I think this
punishment can’t be too cruel to them, because they have done much
crueler things to the victims.

Most criminals may not stay in jail forever because if they have good
behavior, they may be released on parole, but no one can ensure that
they will not do same things again. According to the research, the rate of
criminals who are discharged from prison and commit a crime again is
44%. And there is a serious problem that some criminals stay in jail for a
long time, so it is hard for them to adapt to the new society.

Abolishing the death penalty may increase the crime rate because those
criminals may think no matter what they do, they will be released in the
end. This thought is applied to the countries with high crime rate, such
as Philippines and South Korea. Both of these countries’ criminal rates
have increased after they abolish the death penalty.
In brief, all criminals should pay for the thing they did, and it is fair
for them to receive capital punishment. To prevent criminals from
committing crimes again and not to waste a lot of money taking care of
criminals, the death penalty should be allowed to exist.

MOHAINA (Definition and Reasons)
Death penalty, also called capital punishment, is when a government or state
executes (kills) someone, usually but not always because they have committed a
serious crime. A crime that can be punished with the death penalty is called a
capital crime or a capital offense.
Executions in most countries have become rarer in recent centuries. The death
penalty is a disputed and controversial topic.
About one third of the countries in the world have laws that allow the death
penalty.[1] The United States, the People's Republic of China, Japan and Iran are
examples of countries that have a death penalty. Canada, Australia, Mexico and
all members of Council of Europe are examples of countries that have abolished
the death penalty. 75 countries have gotten rid of the capital punishment for all
crimes. Another 20 can be considered abolitionist in practice. If they retain the
death penalty in law but have not carried out any executions for the past 10
years or more.
1,436 people were executed in the United States from 1977 through May 2016,
primarily by means of lethal injection. Most death penalty cases involve the
execution of murderers although capital punishment can also be applied for
treason, espionage, and other crimes.

the death penalty say is an important tool for preserving law and order, deters
crime, and costs less than life imprisonment. It is a retribution or "an eye for an
eye" honors the victim, which helps console grieving families, and ensures the
perpetrators of heinous crimes never have an opportunity to cause future
tragedy.
Without the death penalty, all the murderers would need a life sentence. This
means that a huge quantity of people specifically the tax payers' money will go
to feeding and housing the murderers their whole lifetime. Even if the
murderers' can shorten their sentence and eventually get out of jail with hard
work, reducing one's penalty requires time. In addition, death penalties could
exist while having the criminals work to reduce their penalties. If you need food
and a place to live in, kill someone! That'll provide you a whole lifetime of food
and housing.
Death penalty should be legalized. Specially, nowadays, in the modern
contemporary societies, where crime rates are increasing at an unstoppable
rate. Now, even though having the complete knowledge that crime is illegal and
can be severely punished, people don't hesitate to kill, rape, steal and so on. Till
when shall we continue to bear those horrible and monstrous criminals that
commit so easily without giving a second thought to either the victims or their
families and still, how many of them are able to escape so easily and live a free
life. Shall we continue to accept this injustice ? And, what about those
psychopaths and serial killers? Should they really be given a second chance? Do
they really deserve it?
People do no longer respect and abide by the society's rules. They do not have
the fear of facing consequences. They are being given freedom and forgiveness
so easily. They are taking the laws and judiciary for fun. Hence, death penalty
will establish that fear and even though if its a fear, at least some fatal crimes
will be reduced. Sometimes, as we cannot always extinguish fire with water, we
have to make use of fire itself.
