Scope, Limitation and Delimitation of the study

The researcher must keep the discussion's subject matter within reasonable

bounds to prevent misunderstandings. The scope of this research is profile of the

parents or guardian of child or children who do labor and factors that influence

prevalence of child labor. This research limited only to the prevalence of child labors

influence to children. The time period of the study is until the end of the school year

2022 and 2023. This study shall be conducted in Barangay Marapangi, Kibawe

Bukidnon. According to the Philippines Statistics Authority (PSA), agriculture had the

highest proportion of working children in 2020, at 47.4 percent, with Northern Mindanao

having the highest proportion at 7.2 percent in 2020 and 10.0 percent in 2019, (PSA,

December 2021).

Significance of the Study

The study’s relevance alludes to its significance for the field of study as a whole,

the study’s particular research topic, and the study’s intended audience. In this case,

the target group is students and the broad area is the influence prevalence of child labor

to children:

Children/Learners. The result of the study could be beneficial to children who wants to

know the factors affecting academic performance on child labor.


Parents. The result of the study could be beneficial to accumulate additional knowledge

about the prevalent child labor.

Future Researchers. The results of the study could be beneficial to other future

researchers who intends to explore more on the variables being covered.

Definition of Terms

Prevalence of Child Labor – “Child labor” refers to any work or economic

activity performed by a child that subjects him/her to any form of exploitation

or is harmful to his/her health and safety or physical, mental or psychosocial

development.

Socio-economic status -Socioeconomic status is the social standing or class of

an individual or group. It is often measured as a combination of education,

Size of the family -Family size refers to the number of persons in the family.

Economic family refers to a group of two or more persons who live in the same

dwelling and are related to each other by blood, marriage, common-law union,

adoption or a foster relationship.
