How do I get to Isabela? There are several ways to get to Isabela, the most common being from
Manila:
You can fly to an alternate airport (Cauayan or Tuguegarao), however you will have to take a taxi or
van to get to Isabela. Travel time will be shorter but the cost will be significantly more.

PAGAY FESTIVAL
-Pagay Festival is celebrated to observe the founding anniversary of the town of Alicia and highlight the
town’s production of Pagay in Ilocano which means Palay.
The town celebrates the use of "Gakit", Gaddang word for raft, by the tribes of Angadanan as thier
mode of tranport; Gakit is used to transport passengers and goods from one town to another through
the mighty Cagayan River.
Marks the establishment of the civil government of Palanan, the commemoration of the capture of the
First President of the Republic, Emilio Aguinaldo and the promotion of the Sabutan products like mats,
fans, bags and hut are made of grass grown in the coastal areas of Palanan. A trade fair, streetdancing
and evening programs are the highlights of the celebration.

Major Cultural Groups
Ilocano was the most prominent ethnic group in Isabela. Of the total household population, 68.71
percent classified themselves as Ilocanos. The next two prominent ethnic groups were Ibanag (14.05
percent) and Tagalog (10.02 percent).
