SPORTS GLOBALIZATION

1. How do Basketball become a globalized sport? Explain.

Basketball is not just famous in one country but all over the world. You've likely played
basketball even if you're not a big sports fan. It is the ultimate sport in that it can be played by
people of all ages, everywhere in the world, and with only one, two, or even a group of players.
If you'd like, you can also play basketball at home. It goes without saying that a team will need a
number of individuals to play in the "official" game of basketball. Basketball may also be played
without a court, and it can be a great way to work out while enhancing your hand-eye
coordination and fundamental motor skills. With all of these benefits, basketball is a great sport
to introduce to your kids when they are still very young. Your children shouldn't be restricted to
waiting until they are old enough to try out for the school basketball team. Team. Basketball
principles may be taught to your kids before they can walk, if not even sooner.

2. Discuss how Filipinos view basketball according to the video.

In the Philippines, basketball is more than simply a sport; it's a way of life. If there is a
ball and a ring, Filipinos will play there. The Filipino ethic of perseverance and hard effort is
reflected in basketball. Everyone congregates to play and/or watch games at the sport, which has
evolved into a social event. Because Filipinos value community, team sports have been deeply
ingrained in their way of life. Although Filipinos are not the tallest group, height is not important
in this game. It makes little difference that the Filipino body is not suited for basketball. It's the
joyous feeling one experiences while playing with pals. Filipinos enjoy basketball because it
brings people together.
