VIII. RATIONALE:

Numeracy is the knowledge, skills, behaviors and dispositions that students need in
order to use mathematics in a wide range of situations. It involves recognizing and understanding the
role of mathematics in the world and having the dispositions and capacities to use mathematical
knowledge and skills purposefully.

Baao Elementary School is strengthening its numeracy program through the


implementation of Project PLUS-M for the three consecutive years. The Program will develop
numeracy skills and learning habit of the learners which will contribute to their lifelong learning
through the use of activity sheets and manipulative learning materials. It also aims to improve reading
comprehension skills and think critically by means of reading answering word problems.
