CASE STUDY REPORT:


45 years old man came to the clinic complaint of shortness of breath. History of hypertension
for 5 years ago with under medication. Echocardiography order by Cardiologist and the
echocardiography data finding as follow:
1- LVIDd = 58.0mm
2- LVIDs = 50.0mm
3- LVOT diameter = 20mm
4- LVOT VTI = 16 cm
5- AV VTI = 75 cm
6- Heart rate = 65bpm
7- Height = 163cm
8- Weight = 60kg

a- Explain and show the echo window view to get all the data finding given above and
modalities used to get all the data.

b- Calculate the stroke volume, cardiac output, cardiac index and ejection fraction. Do
the explanation on the data finding given.

Further echocardiography investigation has done and the finding are:


 Length = 8.76cm (diastole)
 Area = 36.1 (diastole)
 Length = 8.00cm (systole)
 Area = 30.1 (systole)

Explain the echocardiography window and type of modalities used and calculate the ejection
fraction for this patient.

c- Describe any abnormalities finding seen based on data above. Explain relationship
between patient symptom and data finding.
