Established in 2017, I.REST CONSULTS offers high quality consultancy and partnership services to
NGOs’ and Social enterprises. Using a partnerships approach, we endeavour to offer expert services
that are tailor made for our clients and partners.

I.REST CONSULTS shall through its departments and subsidiaries work with NGOs’, Government
Departments, Individuals and Social Enterprises
Services and products
I.REST CONSULTS has four main departments/subsidiaries as follows
1. Fundraising and Resources Mobilisation
The major roles of this function are to carry out project design and participatory proposal development
with partners NGOs’, Government Departments or Social Enterprises on a donor funded initiatives,
solicited or un-solicited call for proposals. Partnerships shall be forged on the following primal
conditions:

  A written memorandum of understanding shall be developed and signed by I.REST
CONSULTS and the partner NGOs, Government Department, Social Enterprises for the
services of project design, proposal development and M&E
 I.REST CONSULTS shall lead in the project design and proposal development process while
the partner shall be responsible for covering development costs
 I.REST CONSULTS shall take the M&E component of the proposed project hence being the
M&E Partner
2. Proposal writing and review consultancy

We also provide proposal development and proposal review consultancy services. We charge a fixed
daily rate for these services. This usually depends on the scope of the work, but most our assignments
may take on average: 1-2 working days for a concept note , 3-7 working days for a full proposal
(remote) and approximately 10-14 working days for an onsite planning workshop with local partners
and the writing of a full proposal document .
If you are in need of a fixed fundraising consultant, we may also agree on a framework contract
covering e.g. 6 -12 months. We would agree on a specific amount of days for proposal writing and
when the opportunity arises we are here to help. And of course, we only charge for the working days
actually done (in case there are less working days needed than previously agreed on).

3. Monitoring Evaluation and Impact Assessment

I.REST CONSULTS has a team of M&E personnel with up to 8 years M&E practical experience and
trained up to Master’s Degree Level in evaluating development projects. The functions of this
department are as follows;
 Designing M&E frameworks and or systems for NGOs, Government Department, Social
Enterprises implementing development projects
 Implementation of M&E frameworks and or systems for NGOs, Government Department,
Social Enterprises implementing development projects
 Performing monitoring and backstopping services checks for M&E frameworks and or systems
for NGOs, Government Department, Social Enterprises implementing development projects
 Support NGOs, Government Departments and Social Enterprises in documenting and
disseminating innovations and new research findings related to projects and programs and
summarize trends in projects/programs monitoring and evaluations
 Provide meaningful data summaries and visualization to demonstrate results on how each of
the project/program performing
 Promote and facilitate processes for identifying, documenting and disseminating good practices
(Design and implement a system to identify, analyze, document and disseminate lessons
learned)
  Designing and implementation of baseline and end-line studies/evaluations for
projects/programs
 Designing and implementing Mobile Monitoring technology/ solutions for projects/programs
4. Grants and Partnerships
Funding/Investment proposals is the most common means of fundraising for most organizations and
social enterprises in Malawi. Yet many organizations are not aware of the available open grants and
funding call for proposals or where to get them. We have a dedicated team that’s vested in grant
seeking, searching, and donor mapping and matching. We profile NGOs’, Government Departments
and Social Enterprises and match them with open call for proposals criteria, Objectives and thematic
areas.
NGOs’ Government Departments and Social Enterprises are required to pay a monthly subscription fee
of MK12, 000 (U$D16) to I.REST CONSULTS through her subsidiary I.REST GRANTS to acquire this
service. We shall provide the following to the subscribers;
- I.REST will map institutional and private donor grants and funding prospects that are suitable for your
organization/social enterprises/projects and compile a tailor-made research document with a range of
potentially perfect matches for your needs
- You will get a summary of the specific grants and funding call for proposals (CFPs’) whose thematic areas
align with your organization’s objectives and thematic areas
- An summary of each and every CFP which will include; what the call entails, website (URL of donor),
contact details (address and name of contact person), thematic focus (overview of priority sectors of donor),
Examples of projects that the donor has already funded (for learning), Grant sizes, Application procedure
(information about application process), special remarks (on suitability with your organization/social
enterprise/project/program if available)
- Review of the proposal and all associated documents to make sure alignment with all guidelines and
evaluation grid before submission

5. Trainings (Capacity Building)

We design and deliver trainings for development NGOs and social businesses in all our areas of
expertise: grant seeking, proposal writing, monitoring & evaluation and impact measurement
We offer a range of practical training courses to suit your particular needs, interests, and time
preferences: we regularly offer classroom workshops from our base in Area 4, Lilongwe, provide
tailored in-house trainings all over the world and offer online webinars and training materials.
