5 Adventure Activities

1. HIKING- Walking in the great outdoors often requiring some navigation. Usually carrying enough
equipment for a day, although sometimes with overnight gear.
a. Importance
It will help us improve our muscles for this activity is a weight-bearing exercise, which
means bone and muscles work harder against gravity. It helps body build or maintain
bone density that critically important as we age.

b. Safety Information
 Hike with a buddy
 Stay hydrated and bring drinking water
 Know where you are going ahead of time
 Keep an eye out for poison oak
 Avoid venturing off the beaten path
2. SCUBA DIVING- An underwater diving whereby divers use breathing equipment that is
completely independent of a surface air supply. The name “Scuba” is an acronym for Self-
Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus
a. Importance
The more you dive and swim, the more your muscles lengthen, build strength n develop
endurance as well as flexibility. Also, help us to build up your core strength that is
important for a good overall posture in your everyday life.

b. Safety Information
 Never dive without a buddy.
 Never dive if you have a cold or are congested in your ears or nose.
 Always plan your dive, and always dive your plan.
 Check your diving equipment to make sure it works
 Do not drink alcohol or take drugs before diving.
3. RAFTING- Recreational outdoor activities which use an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other
body of water. This is often done on whitewater or different degrees of rough water. Dealing
with risk is often a part of the experience.
a. Importance
Provides an adrenaline rush- Whitewater rafting guarantees a release of adrenaline. It
allow rafters to focus only on the excitement they feel rather than the excitement hey
feel rather than the physical exercise of rafting. Reduces stress and provides you an
escape from reality.
b. Safety Information
 Proper fittings
 Wear a life jacket or other personal flotation devices
 Wear helmet
 Hold paddle property
 Position yourself properly on the raft
 Get ready to swim
 Paddle together
4. Mountain Biking- off road cycling that share some similarities with other bicycles, but
incorporate features designed to enhance durability and performance in rough terrain, which
makes them heavy.
a. Importance
The vigorous demands of mountain biking stimulate your body to release natural
endorphins, which are the body’s way of feeling god and getting more energy. Exercise
also boosts serotonin.

 Always wear a helmet
 Stay in control
 Wear the correct riding gear
 Ride within your skill level
 Where you ride determines your bike
 Get to know the trail
 Slow down for blind corners
5. Kayaking- A small, narrow watercraft which is typically propelled by means of a double-bladed
paddle. The word kayak originates from the Greenlantic word qajaq. The traditional kayak has a
covered deck and one or more cockpits, each seating one paddler.
a. Importance
Improve cardiovascular fitness. Increased muscle strength, particularly in the back,
arms, shoulders and chest from moving the paddle. Increased torso and leg strength, as
his strength to power a canoe or kayak comes mainly from rotating the torso and
applying pressure with your legs.

b. Safety Information
 Be aware of weather conditions and water temperature
 Invest in appropriate clothing for your climate
 Beware of off-shore winds that make it difficult to return o shore
 Always follow the boating rules of the area you’re in
