(A) Failure identification
During back hoe loader arm operation, the swing cylinder could be damaged, due to excessive internal
pressure.

(B) Cause of failure

The swing cylinder could be damaged due to wrong plunger dimension.

(C) Details of improvement

Plunger replacement with new ones with correct dimension.

All the safety norms reported in the Operation & Maintenance Manual and
Shop Manual “Safety Chapter” must be followed.

Precautions before starting work

Put the machine in safety position, as reported in

the Operation & Maintenance Manual and Shop
Manual.

Center the back hoe arm and extend fully the

work equipment.

Identify the repair area: the swing cylinder.

Replace both plungers and the related o-rings
supplied.

Plunger tightening torque: 84-102Nm.

After the replacement perform a test of the swing

movement.

At the end of all operations and test, perform the

touch up of the new plungers installed.
