Installation for DOS for additional information, read the readme.txt file on the Anyi! of Dawn CO. You must have at least 3MB or 30MB of free space on your hard drive, depending on what you select as an install option. You will also need at least 450K of conventional memory and 2900K of Extended (XMS) or Expanded (EMS) memory. A. Insert the Anvil of Dawn CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive. B. Type the letter of the drive e.g. D: or E:), then press Enter. C. Type INSTALL, then press Enter. The Install Program will copy all files pecetsogd to play Anvil of Down based upon your selection of installation options. D. The main menu will display o current configuration of path and CD-ROM letter os well os some installation options. 4. Change Path - Anvil of Dawn will use the directory (C:\Anvil) as o defoult. You may change the target drive and/or path from this option. 2. Install Anvil of Down (Minimum Installation) — will copy opproxi- mately 3MB of files to the chosen drive and path for hard drive space efficiency, 3. Install Anvil of Down (Maximum Installation) — will copy approxi- mately 30 MB of files to the chosen drive and path for game ploy efficiency. 4. ESC - Exits without installing. E. After the installation of files to the hard drive is completed, the HMI Sound Operating System Setup Utility will be disployed. This will allow you to configure Anvil of Dawn to your digital oudio ond MIDI devices. It is recommended that you choose Auto Detect to configure your digital audio device. The Sound opehcting System Setup Utility will not auto detect for MIOI devices. You must manually select your MIDI device by choosing the Select MIDI option. If the setup program is unable to auto detect your digital audio device, you may manually select it by using the Select Digital option . F. Type Anuil to begin playing. ic Installation for Windows 9S Run Windows 95. Insert the Anvil of Dawn CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Double-click on the Install icon. Refer to "0" on the front of this installation card. To close any open windows, click on the “Close” box in the upper-right corner of the window you wish to close. R-click the mouse on on open area of your desktop and choose New->Shortcut. In the “Command Line: box, type C:\ANVILAANVIL. If you installed to o asec drive and/or directory , type thot information instead. Click on jext. Type in the nome that you want to appear on the desktop. Click on Newt. Choose on icon if you wish and click on Finish. If you experience ony problems, try the following: R-click on the new icon you created and choose Properties. Click on the Memory tab near the top of the window, Under Conventional memory, change Total to +80. Click on the Screen tab near the top of the window, Moke sure the Full-Screen option is selected. Click on the Mise tab near the top of the window. Moke sure the Allow Screen Sover option is NOT selected. pe Idle Sensitivity bor all the way to the left (Low) side and click TF you are still eeperen ag problems, you may try configuring the icon that you created to run Anuil of mop @ Dp Fs Down in DOS mode. R-click on the new icon you created and choose Properties. Click on the Program tob near the top of the window. Click on the Advanced button neor the bottom of the window, Make sure the MS-DOS Mode option is selected. Click on OK. Click on OK again. Now you should be able to play Anvil of Down by double-clicking on the icon you created. ®GOCGGGS OOOH BOOO OOHHOH OOO Character Portrait - Your character's picture oppears here. Health Bar - Disploys the current health of your character. Spell Bar - Disploys the ammount of spell energy your choracter possesses. NOTE: Clicking on these bars displays the health and spells statistics Examine Objects - With on object on the mouse cursor, click on the eye icon to examine it. Use on Object - With on object on the mouse cursor, click on the hands icon to use it. Character Figure - Equip armor, weopons, and objects by placing therm on the figure. Inventory Box - Contains weopons or objects picked up in the Gaming Screen. Container Box - Placing « sack or chest within this box ploces it in the chorecter's hand and opens it. Removing the sack or chest from the charecter's hand, closes it Magic Icon - Click to oper the Spell Book, describing each spell thot you possess. Return to the Gaming Screen - Click on this icon to return to the Gorning Screen. Statistics - Shows the choracter's current Strength, Agility, Starnina, and Power. Experience Levels - Shows the character's current ratings for magic and weapons experience. firmor Class - Shows a character's current armor rating from unarmored to impervious. Active Magics - Shows o chorocter's currently active spell effects or potions. Affliction - Shows whether a character hos been poisoned or suffering from exhaustion. Encumbrance - Shows whether a character is encumbered from carrying too many objects. Information Display - Displays information when a statistic button is clicked on. Quest Journal - Opens journal of major quest objectives while adventuring. Options Icon - Brings up the Options Screen. Save/Restore - Tokes you to the Save/Restore Screen. Drop Objects - Allows you to drop objects on the Gorning Screen, Alutomap - Brings up the Automap. eo. Goring Screen - Where oll the action tokes place. Four travel direction are ovoiloble: forword, backward, turn left, ond turn right. As you move the cursor to the top, bottom, left or right side of the garning screen, the appropriate arrows are shown. Character Portrait - Clicking on the portrait will take you to the Choracter Sheet. Heatth Bor - Displays your character's Hit Points. Spell Bor - Displays your character's Spell Points. NOTE: Clicking on these bors displays the health and spells statistics. Right Hand - Displays objects, such os weapons, in your character's right hand. ®©® @68 oO Left Hand - Displays objects, such as weapons, in your character's left hand. NOTE: Click on on in-hond object or weapon to use it. You con click to use on object in the left hand ond Ruclick to use on object in the right hand. Typing L or R from the keyboord has the same effect. Click to use an object in the box. IF oné box is empty, R-click to put an pbyect in the box from the cursor. IF Both boxes contain an object, R-click to swap objects between box and cursor. Spells - Displays the character's acquired spells. Click on a spell icon to cast o spell, R-click to see its spell Book entry. Automap - Shows what hos been seen in the immediate vicinity of the character. Click to bring up an overall garne map.
