THESIS STATEMENT
The Golden Age Of Comics
TOPIC: This Golden Age saw the growth of development of the comic book
industry. Although the creation of superheroes is thought as of the flourishing factor
for this era in comics, many genres were developed and succesfully filled the
newsstands, including humor, western, romance, and jungle tales.
Argument/Claim: Throughout the twentieth century, the comic book had been an
increasingly vital part of American culture. Comic books have been a reflection of
American society, they document the struggles and dreams of those who read them.
Comics and Graphic novels address a range of issues within society and allow
people to showcase what is happenning in the world today.
Evidence:
A. The Golden Age Of Comics describes an era of American comic books from 1938
to 1956.
B. “Golden Age” and “Silver Age” bandeed about without a lot of context, and
possibly “Bonze Age”, “Modern Age”, and handful of others
C.The decade beggining with the late 1930s known as the Golden Age of comic
books. Many of superheroes and today’s blockbuster franchises, including Batman,
Superman, and Captain America, emerged during this period, ad the industry grew
into a commercial powerhouse
