1. Written Literature – printed, embodied in a document.
2. Oral Literature – passed down from generation to generation by
word of mouth.
Copy and answer the ff questions:
1. In your opinion, why is it important to read and study literature?
It is important to read and study literature because it helps us gain
more knowledge about everything in general. It also helps us
develop into someone open-minded and astute.

2. Why do you think literature and history could be together and

vice-versa?
Literature and history could be together because some historical
events are embodied in textbooks, scrolls, or manuscripts; one
good example are the carvings in the Egyptian tombs.

On the other hand, those two couldn’t be together because

literature is mostly known as product of someone’s
creativity/thought while history are events that took place in the
past. People who lack cognizance might find it hard to differ.

In conclusion, we must know how to decipher the difference

between fictious and factual literary pieces to avoid picking up
misleading information.

3. Why do you think it is important to set some literary standards of

literature?
I think it is important to set some literary standards because it’ll be
a helpful guide for us when choosing a certain piece of writing.
We’ll be able to identify whether the piece is written with
enthusiasm and proficiency.
