SIGNIFICANCE OF VERMICOMPOSTING

This research will greatly benefit farmers by increasing their understanding of

how vermicomposting can improve crop quality, increase soil fertility, and reduce the
cost of purchasing synthetic fertilizers for growth, because vermicompost contains all of
the essential nutrients that support maximum growth. Not only will this study aid
farmers, but it will also benefit the environment by reducing pollution levels, because
waste products may be utilized as substrate to improve soil fertility. Organic farming is
important in agriculture now and will have a significant impact in the future for crop
safety and quality. Also, this study allowed us to assess the mean impact of
vermicompost on plant aboveground and belowground biomass production and to
determine the influence of different factors on the size of the vermicompost effect, such
as the proportion of vermicompost in the growth medium, the organic material from
which the vermicompost was made, and the plant type. This research was also an
opportunity to identify knowledge gaps and to draw recommendations for future
research and the use of vermicompost.
