Project Abstract: Sampaloc 1 is a barangay in the municipality of Sariaya, in the

province of Quezon. Its population as determined by the 2020
Census was 2,603. This represented 1.61% of the total population
of Sariaya. Based on the interview conducted, Sampaloc 1 doesn’t
have a particular or official evacuation center, instead, they use the
elementary school as a temporary evacuation center. Disasters
happen unexpectedly. The residents of Sampaloc 1 are
experiencing rain-induced landslides. The problem occurs at
Sampaloc 1 Sariaya Quezon and happens during rainy days. Since
the elementary school is only a temporary shelter and cannot hold
all the evacuee families, and is far from the other houses, the other
families chose to stay in their homes rather than evacuate.
The other residents will be forced to stay at home due to the fact
that the temporary evacuation center cannot accommodate all the
residents. Also, the evacuation center is distant from the other
houses, so it is too risky to travel when the disaster comes.
The problem can be solved by proposing an evacuation center
that will provide safety accessibility to the residents of Sampaloc 1
Sariaya Quezon. The proposed evacuation center can accommodate
all the residents of the barangay so that no family will be forced to
stay at home. The goal of this study was to locate the evacuation
center within the same distance to all houses.
