ONE-DIMENSIONAL KINEMATICS Worksheet
ONE-DIMENSIONAL KINEMATICS Worksheet
3: ONE-DIMENSIONAL KINEMATICS
GENERAL DIRECTIONS:
1. Open your book on page 39 and see Activity 3.2. (For reference only. Data are not the same.)
2. Do the activity on a clean sheet of paper (could be a bond paper, pad paper or better yet, a graphing
paper, any paper available).
3. Write all necessary solutions and box your final answers.
4. Take a clear picture/s of your output and compile them into ONE (1) PDF, then submit thru Brightspace.
5. Only ONE (1) file submission is allowed.
6. Not following instructions (from the general directions) will have corresponding demerit of 2 points for
each violation even if it is not included in the rubrics provided for the activity.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Calculate:
a. speed and average speed;
b. velocity and average velocity; and
c. acceleration
2. Graph and interpret speed, velocity and acceleration.
PROCEDURES:
Gio has been reprimanded in school because of his frequent tardiness. His being late was often due to
the delay in the train system. He used this as an excuse to his teacher, but the latter did not believe him. He
even thought that Gio was only lying. And so, Gio thought of a good idea.
To prove that he was not lying, Gio decided to measure the average speed, velocity and acceleration of
the train from the North Ave. Station to Ortigas Station. He used an application on his smartphone to
measure the distance between stations.

Help Gio compute to get the train’s average speed, velocity and acceleration.
