COMMUNICATION SUBJECT: Increased intensity of the wind and height of the waves

RESTRICTIONS:

 Closure of maritime passenger transport operations and nautical sports with and without
engine in the District of Santa Marta.

Synoptic situation present time of 2022-10-06

Weather conditions in the Caribbean Sea are highly influenced by the activity of the Monsoon
Trough which is oscillated around 10°N and the Darien´s low pressure, leaving moderate to heavy
rains in the peninsula of La Guajira and sectors of the Colombia Central coast, these systems will
connect with the atmospheric disturbance (Invest91L) associated to a tropical wave and located on
the northeast of Venezuela on 11.4N 65W, continues growing and strengthening already has a
probability of cyclonic development of a 80% within 48 hours and 90% within 5 days according to
the National Hurricane Center. This system moves to the west at an average speed of 10 knots (18.52
km/h) and a route to the north of the peninsula of La Guajira, potentiating the rainfall in the region.

Likewise, is expected a progressive increase in the waves height, during the passing of the system
with cyclonic potential, with waves between 1.5 and 3.2 mts in open waters of the Eastern
Caribbean, and in waters to the east of the Colombia Basin (north and northeast of the Colombian
Caribbean coast), with waves of up to 2.0 meters in coastal areas and up to 3.2 m in open water,
within next 24 to 36 hours. Punctually, waves between 1.0 and 2.2 mts high are expected in the
ports of Riohacha and Puerto Bolivar. It is recommended to take extreme security measures in the
development of maritime activities.

Forecast for 2022-10-07.

Coastal Area: Very cloudy sky. Possible light to moderate rain. Wind of Variable steering, with speeds
from 6 to 16 knots (Force 2-4). Temperature environment will range from 24°C to 27°C.

Maritime Area: Variable direction wind, with speeds from 5 to 18 knots (Strength 2-5). Wave height
will range from 0.7 to 1.5 meters (Mar 3-4). Rains moderate

RELEVANT AUTHORITIES, EXTREME SECURITY MEASURES IN THE JURISDICTION OF SANTA MARTA.
