Dear Scholarship Committee;

My name is Kadence Velde, and I think would be a great candidate for __________
Scholarship. I am a senior at York High School and plan to attend a four-year college. With the
intent of getting a Criminal Justice Degree. And then following a career in Law Enforcement or
becoming a US. Marshall. Now I know I have the hard work and dedication to be successful at
anything I put my mind to.

As for my grades in high school, I have a 3.625 GPA (93%). I always get my homework done on
time even though I have participated in several sports including football, wrestling, and track.
And I have been successful in all. In wrestling, I have qualified for state two times and medaled
once last year (6th). In football, we made it to the state playoffs. And I was named pre-season
all-state. I am extremely involved with FFA, as I am an officer this year. I have put together
several FFA events, such as the petting zoo, the meeting we have once a month, and several
more that are about to happen. And I have been volunteering many hours for this community. In
church, I have led youth reading and been an active member to help rebuild the new church
building.

Now, I have always wanted to be a cop or involved with the government since I was a kid.
From all the cop shows I watched a lot of my family have a career in law enforcement. And I
have always looked up to those people and wanted to be like them and maybe even serve
alongside them. I have completed several hours of shadowing, and I truly think this is the career
for me.

Now I am applying for this scholarship because I am going to put myself through college. After
all, my parents have already done so much for me and the last thing I need them to worry about
is my college loans and having to pay them off. My parents are already paying off college for my
sister, so another person would double the stress on my parents.

This scholarship would allow me to pay myself through the four-year college I decide to attend.
Allowing me not to burden my parents with more student loan debts. They are already burdened
with my sister's student loan debt. Thank you for considering my application and for offering this
prestigious scholarship.
