Investment Valuation; Tools and Techniques for Determining the Value of Any Asset Aswath
Damodaran Third edition

Course Description:
This course offers an opportunity for students to examine modern theories and approaches in
portfolio selection, security analysis and bond management. Emphasis is placed on integrating
modern portfolio selection models with traditional valuation theory and analysis.
COURSE OUTCOMES:
Students leave the course with the ability to:
 Evaluate the past performance of an investment portfolio.
 Estimate equity value using intrinsic (discounted cash flows) techniques.
 Estimate equity value using relative (ratio analysis) techniques.
Describe and implement derivative pricing models

Course Assignments
You should read the assigned chapter before coming to the class. Other assignment should be done
after each class before the following class. All assignments must be submitted on the Brightspace. Beside
assigned chapters there maybe additional materials that will be distributed in the class for your reading.
Project is the application of material learned in the course to Vietnam. More detail on the project will be
presented in the class.
