We're on the air on 3,2,1. Good afternoon, my name is Andrés Felipe Rodríguez and today in "Let's
talk about art" we will be talking about two famous artistic works, which are the Monalisa by
Leonardo Da Vinci and the fifth symphony by Ludwig Van Beethoven.

Let's start talking about Leonardo Da Vinci's work of art, also known as La Gioconda, it is a
Renaissance work of art painted by the multifaceted artist, the painting was painted between the
years 1503 and 1506, the symbol of Western culture was the Monalisa, the work is in the Louvre
Museum in Paris, France.

The Mona Lisa is considered the most famous painting in the world. Few works have undergone so
much scrutiny and study. Some of the reasons why they make it so famous are:

- The unique sfumato technique that also conveys a very advanced realism for the time.
- The work did not involve more artistic techniques.
- From the point of view of composition, the Mona Lisa is a half-length portrait, or three-
quarter length, on a landscape that is divided into two atmospheres, one colder, the other
warmer with earthy colors.
- The woman's posture is triangular.
- His crossed hands form the base of the pyramid shape. The light applied to the chest and
neck is the same applied to the hands.
- The arms convey distance between her and the viewer.
- The face has no eyebrows. The expression of the woman in the painting is enigmatic.
- The background landscape shows imbalance, as it creates the illusion of a landscape that is
divided into two.
- La Gioconda is made in oil paint on wood.
- Leonardo Da Vinci used the sfumato technique
- The sfumato technique allowed us to perceive the figures that make up the work.
The expression "Mona Lisa" means smooth lady. Mona is an Italian diminutive Madonna and Lisa
would be the name of the model identified by Giorgio Vasari.

Giorgio was a Renaissance painter, architect, and writer.

In my opinion, the work that was made by Leonardo Da Vinci, is one of the most important of the
Renaissance and today, the work was motivated by a model that never thought it would be so
recognized worldwide, the trigonometric figures They were the main base in the realization of the
work.

Now, we will talk about the second artistic work, but instead of the first this is a musical work,
which is known as Beethoven's "Fifth Symphony", the work is composed of four forceful notes at
the beginning of the song, the Fifth Symphony was written in 1808.

Symphony of Destiny was a nickname of this musical work, this nickname arose from the fact that
Beethoven indicated that this song implemented those four notes at the beginning because "that
is how destiny knocks at the door"

The four notes were (Sol, sol, sol, mi). The notes allow you to quickly recognize the musical work.

The "Fifth Symphony" was born at a time when Beethoven was already suffering from severe
deafness aggravated by tinnitus.
Musicologist, conductor and biographer Jan Caeyers describes how Beethoven had to change his
life due to deafness. To begin with, his career as a pianist was over, so his aspirations to enter
history as a great composer and leave music for eternity intensified.

The composer was interested in literature and philosophy and, above all, in politics. Beethoven
was enthusiastic about the French Revolution and shared its ideals of liberty, equality, and
fraternity. He came to include in his work rhythms and melodic motifs from French revolutionary
music.

Although the Fifth Symphony has always been surrounded by a halo of mystery, nurtured from the
later romantic generation, even in its interpretative aspect, it still raises many questions today.

An obvious fact, on the other hand, is that the motif of the Fifth Symphony was not an original
invention of Beethoven for the symphony, but that he had been including this thematic material in
previous works, even in some very early ones, which dismantles the romantic legend of the fate
knocking on the door; In any case, this destiny had been knocking at the door since the composer's
second stay in Vienna, in the last years of the 18th century.

In my opinion, the musical work performed by Beethoven is a song that described historical events
worldwide, the work describes events through its rhythm, the notes that are part of this musical
work were studied and analyzed by the team of work of the singer.

¡To finish the analysis of these artistic works, our viewers can communicate to the numbers that
are on the screen (raise their hands) so that they can ask their questions, comments and/or
opinions about Leonardo Da Vinci's Monalisa and the Fifth Beethoven Symphony.!
