FATHERS HOUSE AND THE MANSIONS.

John 14:2-3 2"In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.(NKJ)

The Fathers house is not heaven. God does not live in a house. He is not contained in a space HE CONTAINS SPACE. Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (NKJ) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth where was God living before the heavens were created? God is spirit He does not need a material house to live in. Isa 66:1 Thus says the LORD: "Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest?(NKJ) Heaven is His throne, not His home. It is the seat of His government. THE HOUSE OF GOD IS THE FAMILY OF GOD. Father's house 3614 oikia (oy-kee'-ah);(STRONGS) from 3624; properly, residence (abstractly), but usually (concretely) an abode (literally or figuratively); by implication a family (especially domestics): KJV-- home, house (-hold). God initially revealed himself in the garden. Later in the Tabernacle of Moses, then Tabernacle of David and Temple of Solomon. Zerubabbels temple and later Herods temple were regarded as places to meet God. Then: 2 Cor 5:19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.(NKJ) Col 2:9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;(NKJ) When Jesus walked the earth in the flesh, He was the only dwelling place of God. Mansions dwellings. 1

3438 mone-(THAYER) 1) a staying, an abiding, a dwelling, an abode 2) to make one's abode 3) metaphorically, used of God (the Holy Spirit) who indwells believers The Fathers house is the family of God. It has many dwelling places. Every believer is a dwelling place. Jesus in the flesh was the only dwelling place. He went to prepare the dwelling places. Where was He going? For this we have to refer to the preceding chapters. John 12:23-24 23But Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. 24"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.(NKJ) John 13:36-38 36Simon Peter said to Him, "Lord, where are You going?" Jesus answered him, "Where I am going you cannot follow Me now, but you shall follow Me afterward." 37Peter said to Him, "Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake." 38Jesus answered him, "Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.(NKJ) HE WAS GOING TO HIS DEATH ON THE CROSS. His death on the cross would produce much grain many dwelling places. His blood would clean those dwelling places. The Fathers house is the family of God THE CHURCH THE MANY MEMBERED BODY OF CHRIST. IT IS THE FATHERS HOUSE NOT OUR HOUSE STOP LOOKING FOR A MATERIAL HOUSE OR MANSION FASHIONED BY OUR CARNAL IMAGINATIONS. This house, the church is the ultimate dwelling place of God. As an individual you are the temple of God. 1 Cor 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?(NKJ) As the corporate body we are the temple of God. 1 Cor 3:16-17 16Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.(NKJ) Jesus said We will come to him and make Our home with him John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. (NKJ) The word home is the greek word mone which means mansion. 3438 mone (mon-ay'); from 3306; a staying, i.e. residence (the act or the place): KJV-- abode, mansion. The Father and the son make you the mansion. Rev 21:2-3 2Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.(NKJ) THE CHURCH, THE NEW JERUSALEM, THE HOLY CITY IS THE TABERNACLE OF GOD THE HOUSE OF THE FATHER.
