Case 1 – Uber Technologies

1. According to the text, Uber provided a new application that improved the way to
call a taxi, which differs from the traditional ones. This innovative business concept
employs an app to coordinate rides between riders and cars—theoretically a nearby
automobile that is tracked by the app—by setting up rides between them.

Additionally, the Uber system offers automatic billing, a history of past trips, routes,
and costs. Moreover, both the driver and the rider are permitted to evaluate one
another. Uber helps people save time and money by being waited when booking the
traditional taxi.

Regarding security, Uber gives the customer the basic information of the driver such
as mobile phone, No. of car, name of drivers. If customers are dangerous or something
bad happens during experiencing the car, Uber will know and figure it out. There are
two ways for paying the service.
One is Banking online, two is by cash - Uber opens more choices for the customers
without forcing them to pay by cash in comparison with traditional taxis. An
application allows users to drop comments and give a star after utilizing the services of
Uber so that Uber can know the experience of users to adjust and innovate the
application in the future.

2. There are a few reasons that I would say Uber will not work in the trucking
industry.

Firstly, the Trucking industry always needs expert drivers for their routes. It will take a
short or long period depending on the delivery address of the received cargo. They
have to have trucking skills to avoid accidents as low as possible.

Secondly, drivers must have a driver’s license in the trucking industry. Sometimes,
drivers will be checked for their licenses or some documents by the police. Taking the
license in trucking will take time because it gets a lot of studying and practice.

Finally, drivers have to keep their minds clear at all times. We can’t trust anyone about
that for driving the truck from day to night without any sleep. It is very dangerous
because some drivers will feel asleep and cause bad situations without worth. This is
one of the most common cases mentioned on television or in newspapers.

3. Uber can expand their services and give convenience to customers. Uber should
establish the delivery of food and beverage – people living in modern life prefer to
order instead of cook. A ton of stores will consider and take part in the system and
give a variety of choices to customers.

Furthermore, Uber should open a motorcycle service. Finding more target audiences
will be the way to enhance the ability of the company and increase revenue. Uber used
to be the top application for booking cars in Vietnam, competing with Grab. However,
Uber already left the market in Vietnam, losing a huge amount of money and one of
the reasons is they don’t open a motorcycle service.
The last service that Uber needs to add to their system – is the delivery of cargo.
Sometimes, we go to work and forget to bring documents or some major things. The
delivery of cargo will be helpful for this situation and ensure 100% of customers will
use this for getting the things which are forgotten.
