WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS DO THEY SOLVE?

Considering the fact that currently 8 million tons of plastic enters the oceans every year, "5

Gyres" organization is trying to solve the environmental problem as plastic pollution. This is

non-profit organization that concentrates on reducing plastics pollution by focusing on

primary research and encourage their recycling, support to refuse single-use polystyrene
In this way they work

against poisoning of

animals, which can


negatively affect the

quality of products and

human diseases caused by

water pollution. This

organization helps to

decrease amount of risk

5 Gyres was first to discover that plastic

microbeads were polluting our waterways. They

convinced companies like Johnson & Johnson and

L'Oreal to phase out plastic microbeads. As a

result, President Obama signed the Microbead-

Free Waters Act into law at the end of 2015
