STORYTELLING

In the beginning Lima was part


of the desert coast of South
America, with desert lands and
without crops. Years later it
would be populated by various
curacazgos as Lima, YCHSMA.

rivers Lurin, Rimac and Chillon,
thus turning Lima into a fertile
area, which produced various
vegetables and fruits such as
pacae, guava, lucuma, custard
apple, chili, pumpkin and
others.

Years later, Wari and Inca

would settle in Lima and build


roads such as Piti Piti, San
Miguel and settled on ancient
huacas such as Mateo Salado,
Pukllana, Maranga,
Pachacámac.

Lima was a place where


people from different places
came together, they went on
pilgrimage to visit the god
Pachacamac, the god of
tremors.

Then, in 1535, the city of Lima


was founded and it was called
"The City of Kings", in honor of
the Magi.
Lima owes its name to the
Aymara word "Rímac", which
was later Spanishized as Lima.
