Functions of Management

The foundational ideas of management theory were developed by the French engineer Henri Fayol
around the turn of the 20th century (1916). Henri Fayol identified planning, organizing, command,
coordination, and control as the five essential management tasks. In accordance with Henri Fayol's
management theory, "management" is one of the six industrial activities and is made up of these five
roles. Many people consider Henri Fayol to be the founder of contemporary management. But the most
widely accepted are functions of management given by KOONTZ and O’DONNEL. PLANNING,
ORGANIZING, STAFFING, DIRECTING AND CONTROLLING. Managers are in control of the way their
teams perform in relation to organizational objectives. Reducing human factor or standardizing
procedures may be necessary to achieve business objectives. These sorts of goals are clarified for
managers by management theories, which also provide guidance on how to achieve those goals.

PLANNING, it is the basic function of management. It deals with chalking out a future course of
action & deciding in advance the most appropriate course of actions for achievement of pre-determined
goals. ORGANIZING, it is the process of bringing together physical, financial and human resources and
developing productive relationship amongst them for achievement of organizational goals. STAFFING, It
is the function of manning the organization structure and keeping it manned. Staffing has assumed
greater importance in the recent years due to advancement of technology, increase in size of business,
complexity of human behavior etc. DIRECTING, it is that part of managerial function which actuates the
organizational methods to work efficiently for achievement of organizational purposes. It is considered
life-spark of the enterprise which sets it in motion the action of people because planning, organizing and
staffing are the mere preparations for doing the work. And lastly is CONTROLLING, It implies
measurement of accomplishment against the standards and correction of deviation if any to ensure
achievement of organizational goals. The purpose of controlling is to ensure that everything occurs in
conformities with the standards. An efficient system of control helps to predict deviations before they
actually occur.

You need to find a good or a perfect employer that can make your company in a good shape. But
right now it's hard to find a good people, because this time you can't tell the personality of people by
only looking at their appearance or skins, right now there's a lot of people there that are good looking
but at the same time they're not fit or good enough to do a job. Because some of them is taking a job
that are not fit to them or not suits to them by their personality or abilities.

To avoid this situation as a employer i am gonna find a job that appropriate to me because if you
took a job that didn't suits to you there is a possible outcome that can destroy your job. If that happen
its not only you who will affected because even the company will be affected and the others employer.
So if you are gonna find a job make sure that the job is suits to you. Even if you don't finish your school,
there is still a chance that you can get a job. That is if your attitude is good and you treat people well,
because if you are rude and don't know how to get along with people you will having a hard time to find
a job.
