「Toughness fine waterproofing and adhesion strength of various sealing materials」

SHOSEKI KAKO Co, Ltd.

1. First of all

The adhesion strength of the sealing material used for the purpose of adhering Toughness Fine
waterproofing and Metal stick etc. is reported below.

2. Adhesion test

Adhesion between toughness fine waterproofing and various sealing materials, and adhesion
between Metal stick and various sealing materials,
We asked for each and confirmed the suitability of the material.

3) After making the waterproof layer, fix the steel attachment (4 cm x 4 cm) with epoxy
adhesive. ※ Omitted in ②
4) After the adhesive hardens, cut along the edge of the steel attachment to reach
the substrate, The waterproof layer around the attachment was removed to prepare
a test specimen. ※ Omitted in ②

※The metal stick used in the test weighs less than 1g, and
it is calculated that a load of 0.001kg×9.8≒0.01N is
applied to the bonding surface.
(4) Test conditions
Test temperature: 20±2℃
Test speed: 0.5mm/min , 500mm/min

(5) Test method

① Attach the jig for adhesion test to the tensile tester, attach the test piece, and
pull until the test piece breaks according to the conditions in Table 2.
② Read the maximum load (N) from the automatically recorded chart.
③ The test result was obtained by dividing the indicated strength (maximum load)
of the tester as the test force (N) by the area of the attachment as the
adhesive strength (N/cm2).

Test force(N)
Adhesion strength(N cm2)=
16cm2

4. Summary

From the above results, it was confirmed that there was no problem in adhesiveness in all of
the three types of sealing materials used in this experiment.
The judgment criterion is the judgment criterion of base adhesive strength, which is a high
level used for exposure waterproofing, and it was confirmed that any sealing material exceeded
the judgment criterion.

Toughness Fine waterproofing has the best adhesiveness of the same quality, and is the most
recommended.

The adhesion to the material of the Metal stick (it is thought that most of the products on
the market are made of aluminum) is not particularly inferior, but the application timing,
especially after the progress of hardening, it is conceivable that the register marks cannot
be held in the initial state of low viscosity.

Therefore, it is considered desirable to have marks attached at the timing in the middle of curing
near the end of the pot life.
