The following quotas may be awarded. The four (4) medalists of each weight division in Cadet
(12-14), Junior (15-17) and Children (6-11) categories will receive a wildcard for the 2023 Pan
American Junior and Cadet Championships, and Pan American Children Championships 2022.
Only one wildcard per country per division will be granted. The applicable quota allocation rules
are in force.

Head of team meeting will happen on August 17, 2022 from 2 to 4 pm. at the competition Venue.

COMPETITION RULES

Poomsae / FreeStyle Competition Rules, in force as of May 14, 2019.

COMPETITION SYSTEM

Recognized Poomsae: U30 and U40: Single elimination tournament system. Cut-off system for
all other categories. Two (2) Poomsae must be performed for all rounds (preliminary, semi, final).

Other recognized categories. One (1) Poomsae from designated Compulsory Poomsae decided
for each division must be performed for all the preliminarily round, and Two (2) for semi-final and
final rounds for all competitions. (Compulsory Poomsae to be assigned for each division shall be decided
at the time of drawing of lots by Technical Delegate in consultation with the PATU officials.)

Poomsae Freestyle: Cut-off system for all Freestyle categories (single Final Round).
The OC may change this due to organizational matters. Scoring shall be made in accordance with
the rules of the WT.

Athletes are strongly recommended to upload their music prior to the competition in the
following link;

The file must be named under the following format.

Otherwise, they must bring their music in MP3 format on USB-stick. Apple audio format is not
allowed. The music shall be the choice of the contestant; however, any political, social and religious
content is not allowed. MUSIC MUST NOT CONTAIN ANY KIND OF LYRICS OR WORDS.

CONTEST TIME

Recognized Poomsae
Individual, Pair, and Team competitions up to 90 seconds. The waiting period between 1st
poomsae and 2nd poomsae is minimum of 30 seconds.

Free Style Poomsae


Individual, Pair, and Mixed Team competitions from 90 seconds to 100 seconds.

The WT Technical Delegate has the authority to adjust the contest time as he sees fit.

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Each team/club can send as many athletes as they wish per poomsae division to compete in the
WT President’s Cup | Pan American Edition 2022.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Holder of a valid 2022 WT Global Athlete License.


2. Member of the team/club of a pertinent Member National Association, recognized by the Pan
American Taekwondo Union or World Taekwondo.
3. Holder of 1st Dan/Poom, and above (WT regulations) for Cadets athletes and above.
4. An athlete in order to be eligible for participation must be born in 2017 or before.

All competitors must prove their age by presenting their passport or identificationcard at the time
of registration. For those athletes that are not adults, a written consent must be submitted (please
find enclosed on the last pages) at the registration, signed by one of the parents or legal
guardians, accepting their participation and all parts of the official invitation.

Note: Contestants may compete in maximum two (2) events per WT Competition Rules (in
Recognized Poomsae and/ or Freestyle Poomsae). If an athlete is registered in more than 2
events, he/she will be randomly removed from the needed events until meeting the 2 limit

COACH ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum age of 18 years.


2. Holder of a valid 2022 WT Global Official License.
3. Coach is not allowed wearing Dobok.
4. 1 coach per 5 athletes is allowed. Exceeding this ratio is subject to an extra fee.

Team entries will only be accepted through the WT GMS online registration system Simply
Compete.

Registration of athletes is only possible with a valid 2022 WT Global License (GAL issued by
assigned GMS club, Edition and MNA Administrators only). Please find belowthe direct link to

Protest fee
$200.
In case of an official protest submitted according to WT Rules, a non-refundable
$200 fee shall be paid. Make sure the protest form is used (see attached at the end) and be aware thatthe
protest is made in time!!

Cash payments will only be accepted under extraordinary circumstance and with a prior request.

PROOF OF PAYMENT REQUIREMENT

Athlete sport entries may be deleted if no payment has been received. Each team shallinform
PATU and USAT of their entry fee payment by submitting the transfer slip before the registration
and payment deadline.

Athletes that are registered and not participating shall be deleted from the system
BEFORE the registration deadline. If they are not deleted from the system they are considered
as participating athletes and their entry fee shall be paid in full, even if they do not show up at
the event.

NO REFUND

Pan American Taekwondo Union, USA Taekwondo and/or the Local Organizing Committee do
not refund entry feespaid.

ACCREDITATION CARD DISTRIBUTION

Registered teams only receive the athlete and official’s accreditation cards if all financial
obligations have been fulfilled. For all registered athletes, the entry fee must be paid before the
accreditation cards will be distributed to the respective team.

VISA REQUEST

The visa invitation letter per individual will be automatically generated from WT GMS platform if
the visa is requested during the registration for the event. All members who need entry visa to
USA must FIRST be registered for the event in GMS. You must then use this letter to apply for
your or your team member’s visa.

Approved Poomsae Competition Uniforms
1. Children Division (6-11): Color code as Cadets is highly encourage, but participants may
compete in fully white V neck dobok.
2. Cadet Division (Ages 12-14): White top with red and black collar, plus blue pants formales;
the same top, but with red pants, for females.
3. Junior and Senior Division (Ages 15-50): White top with dark blue pants for males;white
top with light blue pants for females.
4. Master Division (Ages 51 and up): Yellow top and dark blue pants for both malesand
females.

FIELD OF PLAY REGULATIONS

By accepting a Pan American Taekwondo Union accreditation card, all accredited persons agree
to comply with the Field of Play regulations applicable at USA Taekwondo and Pan American
Taekwondo Union events.

AWARDS
Individual awards
1st place – gold medal and certificate
2nd place – silver medal and certificate
3rd place – bronze medal and certificate
3rd place – bronze medal and certificate

Team awards
Team awards will be given out to the top five (5) teams in each of the Men’s and
Women’s Senior Sparring Classifications, based on the point system of 7, 3 and 1point
per medalist.

Special awards
Best Male and Best Female athlete in the Senior Poomsae Division
Best Male and Female International Referees
Best Male and Female Team Coach.

These awards will be determined and awarded after the conclusion of the final day of
the Senior Sparring Divisions.

MEDICAL AND ANTI-DOPING

Applicable medical rules


The WT Medical Code, WT mouthguard, bracing, taping, padding, and piercing rules
are applicable, which all MNA participating this event must comply.

Applicable doping rules


The WT Anti-Doping Rules and the WADA Anti-Doping Code are applicable.
Compulsory random doping tests will be conducted among all athletes. World
Taekwondo and/or WADA may carry out random out-of-competition testing prior to the
event.

Therapeutic Use Exemption


Athletes who take any substance or medicine listed in the “Prohibited List” of the WT
Anti-Doping Rules and WADA Anti-Doping Code for therapeutic purposes are requested
to submit TUE applications via ADAMS, together with the required medical information.
Otherwise, please download the TUE Application Form (found on https://ita.sport/TUE),
and once duly completed and signed, send it together with the required medical file to
tue@ita.sport. Report TUE applications also to the WT Sport Department via
antidoping@worldtaekwondo.org by no later than 15 January 2022.

MEDIA AND PRESS

Media accreditation
Registered media and press officials or official photographers are entitled to receive a
media and press accreditation card. For more information, please contact the Pan
American Taekwondo Union at events@panamericantaekwondounion.org

Photo positions
All accredited photographers are only allowed to use the designated photo positions
while working in the Field of Play. By accepting a media and press accreditation, the
accredited person agrees to always follow the instructions of the Organizing Committee
and Press officer.

All accredited club/teams participating at the event are strongly recommended to book

Admission to the event is by credential or ticket only.

Online sales will be available throughout through August 15. Tickets can be purchased on event
days at the Venue. All ticket sales are non-refundable and no exchangeable. Tickets are subject
to availability and capacity limits. Prices subject to change without notice. Children under 5 are
free.

INDEMNITIES

It is the responsibility of each registering team to ensure that their athletes and team officials
have filled out the indemnification forms correctly and have duly signed them, thereby
indemnifying WT, PATU, the Organizing Committee and all other officials and athletes from any
claims of injuries, losses or otherwise arising in the course of participation at the WT President’s
Cup 2022 | PATU Edition or any activities linked therewith.

It is the responsibility of each registered team to ensure and guarantee that sufficient insurance
coverage has been arranged for all athletes, team officials and other participants. Without
sufficient insurance coverage, teams will not be allowed to compete.
Please fill out the Personal Indemnity Forms and return them to the Organization Committee
before the deadline. Each participant (athletes, team officials, etc.) must fill out the
indemnification form.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

All participating athletes, coaches, team officials, technical officials and participants at
PATU events shall have mandatorily an international medical insurance that covers
medical care (COVID included) and in case of emergency, repatriation to the country of
origin, valid on the days present in the host country of the event. PATU, USAT nor the
Local OrganizingCommittee shall be responsible to cover any medical costs incurred for
medical treatment before, on or during the competition or repatriation in the broadest
sense of the word.
All relevant documents proving that such an insurance is present, including insurance
policy papers, should be taken to the event in case a medical situation occurs.
Each MNA/Club, Team doctor or team medical staff must ensure their athletes and team
officials have valid international health insurance that covers medical and emergency
care at the designated hospitals in Jacksonville before arrival to the venue.
