I. GRADING SYSTEM
A student’s final numerical grade is computed using the weight distribution of the different assessment
tasks in Section E (Assessments and Rubrics). The numerical grade is then converted to a letter grade
based on the following table:
92 – 100 A
86 – 91 B+
77 – 85 B
69 – 76 C+
60 – 68 C
50 – 59 D
Below 50 F

J. CLASS POLICIES
1. The official learning management system for this course will be Canvas.
2. Only students who are officially enrolled will be included in the Canvas class.
3. Only students who are officially enrolled will be allowed to take assessments.
4. Students who require support for Canvas may seek help by sending an email to
ls.one@ateneo.edu or chatting with LS-One through that account using their obf email.
5. Student access to the Canvas course will be closed a week after the electronic release of
grades for the first quarter. Students are encouraged to download the course materials as well as
the records of their grades before the Canvas course closes.
6. This course is FLEX mode. Onsite students are expected to attend classes onsite, while
online students are expected to attend classes online. Online students will be expected to turn on
their cameras for the duration of the session. If you have any objections to this, attend the class
onsite.
7. Learning materials (study guides, etc.) as well as the guidelines and schedules for all graded
work will be posted in Canvas and their official Ateneo emails. It is the student’s responsibility to
regularly check the course Canvas page and their emails for any scheduled activities and/or
requirements.
8. Students are encouraged to consult with the teacher either through additional synchronous
sessions or through the Canvas platform. They are encouraged to email the instructor if there are
any questions, confusions, or need any clarifications regarding the subject matter. As per ADAA
memo, there should be at least three people (including the teacher) during online consultations via
video conference.
9. Students who wish to contact the teacher should do so only through email or Canvas.
Students should refrain from sending emails outside office hours (Mon-Fri, 8:00am – 5:00pm).
10. No additional work will be given to students to improve their grades. The class requirements
already provide enough opportunities for students to get good grades.
11. You have two days after any class requirement is graded to report any mistakes in checking.
Appeals made after this time will no longer be considered.
12. Deadline for graded exercises are stated in Canvas, and no extensions will be given. The list of
all deadlines will be known to the students at the latest two weeks before exercises are due. All
students are advised not to delay any tasks. It is the responsibility of the students to make known to
the instructor any issues concerning internet connectivity that could hinder timely submission of
tasks. DO NOT DELAY TASKS. Internet connections are known to become wonky during
deadlines!
13. For fully onsite students, Long Tests will be administered onsite at an assigned schedule.
Online students will take the Long Tests online, following the Department of Mathematics guidelines
for online exams.
14. Students are expected to exercise the highest level of academic integrity. Students are
expected to treat their classmates and instructor, with respect at all times even in an
online environment. Cheating, plagiarism, discourtesy or misbehavior will not be tolerated and
will be treated in accordance to the Student Handbook.
15. The instructor can conduct oral examinations in lieu of/in addition to canvas exercises. The
students will be asked to explain submitted solutions, explain steps, or explain solutions to problems
or concepts related to these that may or may not be in the original given exercises. Students will be
advised the day before when such oral examinations will be given.
16. Attendance will be checked. A maximum of 6 cuts will be allowed. Tardiness is 0.5 of a cut.
