CASE ALERT SUBSCRIPTION SYSTEM NOW AVAILABLE FOR TRAFFIC AND

CRIMINAL CASES IN GENERAL DISTRICT COURTS AND SELECT CIRCUIT COURTS

The Office of the Executive Secretary is pleased to announce that the Case Alert
Subscription System (CASS) is available for traffic and criminal cases in general
district courts and select circuit courts. CASS is a courtesy reminder service available
within the Virginia Judiciary Online Case Information System 2.0 (OCIS 2.0),
https://eapps.courts.state.va.us/ocis/landing. CASS can be used to receive alerts when a
traffic or criminal case is updated with a change in hearing date, time and/or courtroom.
The system can also be used to receive reminders 1 day, 3 days and/or 1 week before a
scheduled hearing. CASS alerts will be sent as email messages or SMS text messages
(or both, if desired). Users can subscribe to multiple cases and customize their options
for receiving alerts. Users may visit www.vacourts.gov and select Subscribe for Alerts
to Traffic/Criminal Cases.

The case information displayed on the OCIS 2.0 is case information entered by the
respective court clerks into the respective case management systems (CMS). The Office
of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia is the administrative office
for Virginia's Judicial System and provides the technology support to operate CMS.

The circuit court case information viewable on OCIS 2.0 is provided with the consent of
the participating circuit court clerks.
