OSMANLI’DA BELAGAT NE İŞE YARAR?
Osman Cengiz
Özet
Ruh, kalp ve nefis kavramları için klasik metafizik metinlerinden yapılan iktibaslar;
irade, ilim ve kudret kavramları yanında tasavvurât ve tasdikât bahislerinin, âdab-ı bahs
konularının ele alınması; zaman zaman Meşşâî ve İşrakî geleneğe, hukemâ ve mütekellimin
mesleklerinin farkına dikkat çekilmesi eserin disiplinler arası özelliğini göstermektedir. Bunun
yanında kuvve-i nazariyye ve ameliyye’ye, havâss-ı hamse-i bâtına ve araz-ı nisbî’ye, eyniyyet,
Bildiri, belagat metinlerinde
alan dışı literatür ve kavram inşası çalışmalarına katkı sunmayı amaçlamaktadır.
WHAT IS THE USE OF RETORIC IN OTTOMAN EMPİRE?
Abstract
One of the classical studies in the science of rhetoric, which is one of the sources of
Ottoman thought, is the work of Ebü'l-Kasım es-Samarkandi (d. 888/1483): Risâletü’l-istiârât.
An annotation was written on this work by Isâmuddin Isferâyînî (d. 945/1538) and Filibeli Halil
Fevzi Efendi (d. 1301/1884) wrote an ohter annotation for this commentary. This book, which
we can count as an interdisciplinary text, depicts the world of thought of an intellectual through
Halil Fevzi. The paper deals with the interdisciplinary aspect of the present work. The fact that
this science is related to many fields such as politics, law, and logic shows that the intellectual
mind cannot be detached from it and also indicates why we turn to metaphor and figurative
meaning. Giving the papers and metaphors in Turkish, concisely or in detail; the application of
logical propositions or metaphysical interpretation to rhetoric; the work deals with topics such
as the adaptation of the rhetoric method to logic.
There are quotations from classical metaphysical texts for the concepts of soul, heart
and soul. In addition to this, the study, which includes havâss-ı hamse-i batina, the conceptions
of time-space, also gave explanations about mental forms. It is seen that the work, which deals
with the concepts of mind and comprehension together with the science of medicine, also
exemplifies the relationship between metaphor and movement through physics. The paper aims
to contribute to non-field literature and concept construction studies in rhetoric texts.
