Georgia is located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia.

The country to the east of the Black Sea is


bordered by Turkey and Armenia to the south, Azerbaijan to the east, and Russia to the north,
beyond the Caucasus Mountains. The capital and largest city is Tbilisi. The total area of Georgia
covers 69,700 square kilometers.

The population of Georgia is 3,729.5 thousand people (as of January 2015). The official language is
Georgian. There are just 14 unique alphabets in the world and Georgian is among them. The vast
majority of the population of Georgia (83.9% in 2002) is a follower of Orthodox Christianity. The
country is a unitary semi-presidential republic. Georgian currency is Georgian Lari (GEL
).
Georgia has favorable climatic and natural conditions, which contribute to the development of
agriculture. 43.4% (more than 3 million hectares) of the total area of Georgia is defined as
agricultural land, which also includes pastures and meadows. 43% of the area is covered by forest.

Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia and one of the municipalities located in the Tbilisi Cave in eastern
Georgia. This city is distinguished by its nature, as well as important cultural patterns and history.
Here you will find waterfalls, lakes and very beautiful views. Eclecticism is a characteristic niche for
Tbilisi. Many cultures of different eras or characters come together here and combine them in an
interesting way.Also noteworthy are the settlements in Tbilisi Municipality, in addition to the capital
itself, where we find a pleasant environment for unloading and wandering, temples of historical and
cultural value, and impressive castles.

Traditional dishes
Kakheti-traditional dishes are: barbecue, khashlama, chakaful, chikhirtma.
Samtskhe-Javakheti-traditional dish is Tatarberak, Apokhti.
Mtiuleti, Tusheti, Pshavi, Khevsureti - traditional dishes are: Khinkali, Gordila (dough cooked in
water), Kaghi (minced meat), Kaurma, Kontori (khachapuri with cottage cheese).
Imereti-traditional dishes are: kuchmachi, kama and food made from ginger mushroom and canned
manchkvala.
Samegrelo- Samegrelo is distinguished by such wonderful dishes as: Ghomi, Elarji, Gebzhalia.
Adjara- Traditional dishes are: Borano (cheese dipped in butter), Chirbuli (breakfast prepared with
eggs and nuts) and Sinori (dish prepared with dried plates of fermented and unleavened dough).
Guria is a well-known Gurian pie - a crescent-shaped khachapuri with pre-cooked eggs cut in half.
Gurians also make Janjukha - hazelnut-hearted churchkhela.
Svaneti - Chivishtari, Kubdari, Tashmijabi is traditional, which is mashed potatoes with cheese.
