1. My object of study is a movie, the title is Incredible 2. This movie is about a superhero family
that takes on an interesting new mission. Incredibles 2 picks up right where The Incredibles
ended, catching up with Bob “Mr. Incredible” and Helen “Elastigirl” Parr, their children
Violet, Dash, and baby Jack-Jack; and their Pal Lucius “Frozone”. They have to save the city
from the Underminer, the villain introduced at the end of the prior film. The family doesn’t
yet know about Jack-Jack’s incredible superpowers. But, news coverage and politicians
blame them for the destruction they wrought, and the superhero program is being shut
down. The family has been living in a motel since the destruction of their suburban home in
the last film, but now they need money and a permanent place to live. Mr Incredible has to
stay at the house and be a stay at home dad while his wife Helen goes on an adventure to
save the world. This family had a lot of trouble and they had to defeat their enemy.

2. I choose this object because it's related to my problem that talks about the archetype in
literature. The type of archetype that I analyze for each character for example, a hero who
ultimately makes a fulfilling and necessary tax and who will restore Harmony or Justice to
the community. The character that fits this type is the Superhero family. There are villains
who embody everything that the hero opposes and hoping that the hero will fall in their
quest. And the other type is Mentor who is a teacher to initiate, train and teach them, her
name is Edna Mode.

3. I used Carl Gustav Jung's theory for my study. The concept of archetypes is taken from
collective unconsciousness. Jung suggests that all human beings share a deep level of
unconscious mind universally which is hidden beneath the personal psyche. The contains
modes of behavior and some contents which are identical in every human being that include
a common psychic content of a universal nature present in individuals across the globe.
Thus, human beings show a tendency to perceive common meanings embodied in a
particular symbol as the same, even at the unconscious level. The archetypes include, anima
or animus, the self, persona and they have been identified as the major elements in the
common language which involves the stories people communicate with others.

4. The reason I chose Carl Gustav Jung's theory is because this theory fit for my study that
discusses archetype analysis of each character.Jung believed that each archetype played a
role in personality, but felt that most people were dominated by one specific archetype.
According to Jung, the actual way in which an archetype is expressed or realized depends
upon a number of factors, including an individual's cultural influences and uniquely personal
experiences. Jung acknowledged that the four main archetypes (the self, persona, shadow
and anima) can intermingle and give rise to other archetypal figure such as Hero ( Mr.
Incredible), (Companions) the parr family, and mentor (Edna).
