The Zebra is the white and black animal. It lives mostly in the eastern and southern parts of Africa.

The
Zebra has unique eyes that are black in color which enable it to see clearly both during day and night.
Also, the position of the eyes in zebras’ head enable it to see in all directions in 360 degree. Zebras
normally travel for nearly 700 to 18,000 miles every day to search for food. They spend around 18 hours
a day eating. They eat almost 92% of grass, however they only eat 8% of trees.

Zebras come from Equus family which also includes donkeys and horses. However, they are different in
shape and color. Zebras are about 4.1 feet tall and they weigh around 350 kilograms. On the other hand,
the donkeys are 3.9 feet tall and weigh 290 kilograms, while the horses are about 3.5 feet tall and about
690 kilograms in weight.

The zebra is interesting animal. It is about 65 centimeters tall and 250 centimeters long. Its white and
black strips help it to hide from enemies and also to stop 70% of heat in the sunny and hot days. The
zebra has 40 teeth and it also has short hair on its neck in order to protect it from annoying flies.
Additionally, because the zebra has hoofs in its legs, it is able to dig the ground and also to be able to
run 55 kilometers per hour.

Currently, there are about 750,00 zebras in the jungles in Africa. Though, the number of zebras in
Tanzania had decreased of approximately 20% between 1990 and 2000. Zebras can survive for long
time. These animals usually live from 20 to 40 years.
