 RATIONALE:
World’s energy consumption steadily increases due to enhancement of quality of life,
increase in transportation etc. Most of he energy demand can be fulfilled with the help of fossile
fuels. Reservoirs of these fuels are limited. The aim of inclusion of this subject in the curriculum
is to develop the ability in the student to develop the alternative energy sources so as to reduce
the dependability on the non renewable power sources and improvements in engine performance
and emission concern and their material compatibility concern.

 COURSE OUTCOMES:
After completing this course students will be able to–
1. Apply recent technologies of alternative fuels in vehicle.
2. Select suitable alternative fuels for vehicle.
3. Analyze effect of blending of bio-fuels on performance and emission characteristics
of the engine
4. Conduct the test to find out effect of blending of various biofuels on the performance
and emission characteristics of the S.I and CI. engine
5. Test various properties of fuel blends.
6. Fitment of LPG and CNG kit on a vehicle
